Does anyone order contact lenses online?
If so, what company do you use and are they shit?

If you have perfect eyesight and find this post boring, why not try rubbing vinegar and sand in your eyes to briefly experience poor eyesight? Don't say you won't like it until you have tried it!

I found that post boring.
However, I wear glasses.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:43, archived)
I'd like to know what I should do next.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:43, archived)
Please bear in mind that I won't do anything dangerous.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:43, archived)
Otherwise, I'm a pretty open chap.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:43, archived)
Try putting a cornflake in your eye
to get the full contact lens experience.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:45, archived)
I do not possess any cornflakes.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:45, archived)
However, I do have some Frosties.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:46, archived)
Is this the same thing?

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:46, archived)
you can simulate cataracts

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:52, archived)
sorry gonz, but "near the top" ing is still strictly
'for the twats'
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 14:01, archived)
Dayum.
=/
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 14:02, archived)
however!
it's better than a new thread i guess
and that's a pretty cool video
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 14:06, archived)
You haven't had the "full" contact lens experience,
until you make a curry, involving the chopping of fresh chillies.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:47, archived)
I don't eat curry.
Am I a bad person?
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:47, archived)
no
just a bit of a food pansy
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:48, archived)
I've never actually had the opportunity to eat it.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:50, archived)
how come?
I even got it for lunch at primary school. Granted it was pretty week and had raisins in, but still nominally "curry".
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:52, archived)
I've not actually got a proper answer.
All I can see is that it's down to what my parents ate.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:54, archived)
well you're a big boy now

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:56, archived)
Nah.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:59, archived)
but if you want to experience what I'm talking about,
go chop up some chillies, and then rub your fingers in your eyes.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:51, archived)
No thank you.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:51, archived)
ouch
or when you cut a chilli and the liquid gets in your eye
*does ouchy stingy eye dance*
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:56, archived)
Not because of the curry
you are a bad person for many other reasons.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:49, archived)
Oh.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:51, archived)
I don't have perfect eyesight by a long way,
but I still don't order contact lenses online.
I used to wear contact lenses a few years ago, can't remember who did them now though. Optical Express, I think. They sent me twice as much cleaning solution than I needed every month, and I ended up with loads of spare bottles of it.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:43, archived)
Gutted, eye spacker.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:44, archived)
Eyed, gut spacker.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:45, archived)
Hay, that hurts.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:57, archived)
i use contacts but don't order them online
i have thought in the past that perhaps i should though
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:46, archived)
Yes, me too. They are quite expensive from shops.
Once you have your prescription and a brand you find comfortable, you don't really need the shop any more, or the prices.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:48, archived)
I got mine from a shop,
and it was only £12 a month or something, which I thought was fairly reasonable.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:49, archived)
hmm. maybe i should look into it
have you done some research already? findings?
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:50, archived)
Quick example
www.contactlenses.co.uk quote £18 for what I am currently paying £30 for at Specsavers
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:57, archived)
should've gone to... oh

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 14:08, archived)
specsavers
the monthly ones, so you get a big green box through the post with three months supply, thier aftercare is very good as well
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:47, archived)
Currently use Specsavers
I just think that online prices will be much cheaper. I just need to find a company to trust my money with.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:49, archived)
im just sticking with them
theyve always been very good/helpful, id rather have that and pay a tenner a month for lenses than some unknown company
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:51, archived)
I don't think they are massively cheaper at all
but then I'm not an eyefail yet, so I don't really know.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:55, archived)
FUCK THAT THE CRICKET IS NEARLY ON

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:55, archived)
have you tickets?

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:56, archived)
oh hell yeah.

(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 14:14, archived)
I recently changed to some that you can wear for 6 days + nights
They are very good, I am going to look into laser treatment though
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:55, archived)
In the long run
lasers are the future.
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:57, archived)
unfortunately for me
they don't do so well on long sight
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 13:59, archived)
That is true
:(
(, Tue 7 Jul 2009, 14:00, archived)
I read a story on the web somewhere
where a guy came home from the pub pissed, tried to take his lenses out and could only get hold of the corner, after a while of trying he gave up and went to A&E to see why they were stuck, turns out the thick twat had not got them in and was trying to remove his cornea.
