morning
it seems the cities in which my parents live are the UK's first and second place least affordable, how about that

How's Mrs McB?
(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 8:35, archived)
pretty down in the dumps tbh
first consultancy meeting re cataract surgery Sept 17th - then fuck knows how long until the actual ops. Wasn't even interviewed for a job she applied for which was basically her old job for 10+ years. Turns out a large 'career break' on your cv coupled with 'I'd rather not say' as the reply to 'do you have any ongoing health issues' is not a good look.
(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 8:43, archived)
They asked about ongoing health issues?
they can fuck right off. That's a huge HR no-no right away, like asking if she's got any intention of having children. Tell her not to take it to heart, to say there are plenty more jobs in the ocean would be a massive understatement. Has she considered agency work just to get her hand back in? Agencies can be fuckers though, they work for their clients who are the employers so they spin a load of shit to anyone they interview but if your misses has an in-demand skillset (a-la Liam Neeson) then she could get some bit-work. Anyway, all the best to her.

Have I missed something?
How can you be skilled in Liam Neeson?
(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 11:27, archived)
what Garold said...why are they asking about ongoing health issues?

(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 8:59, archived)
no idea but it was for the London Stock Exchange, I should imagine their HR game is solid

PS morning

*it's good if you're a wealthy adult but until you're old enough to get served in pubs there's fuck all to do if you're young, other than smoking dope in parks. That was the case in my day anyway
(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 8:04, archived)
you could say that about plenty of places though tbf

(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 8:06, archived)
it wasn't a problem for me

(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 8:32, archived)
I've pondered that, and I have come to the inescapable conclusion that Covid is a sham and the vaccine contains microchips and we're all experimental lab rats.

(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 8:36, archived)
you see I also pondered that, but my conclusion was that George Soros is trying to create a socialist state using mind control

I tell you were property is very cheap
And that's the red zone, surrounding Vesuvius. We looked in an estate agent while we were there, and the apartments are dirt cheap. I mean, it's obvious why, but you'd make a killing on Airbnb
(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 9:12, archived)
not a bad business idea actually

(, Wed 11 Aug 2021, 9:14, archived)
As long as you make enough in rent to cover the cost of the flat, before the volcano blows
But yeah. Having a base right near Pompeii would be very attractive to holiday makers
