cartoon characters, videogame characters, things like that
as a pixel is basically a square, I knit squares of the correct colours and sew them together to make blankets. I've made Super Mario blankets, Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, Fortnite, Minecraft, Dangermouse, Courage the Cowardly Dog and my personal favourite, Megamind.

they quickly got bigger and better. i'm making blankets with odd balls of wool at the moment, i do it in the summer/autumn and take the finished blankets to the food bank when winter starts, because they can give them to homeless charities
