Hi all, just got word that one of my best friends/flatmate from university has died.In his sleep of "natural causes", apparently. He was 49, same age as me. Haven't heard from him for about 17 years, but always assumed we'd get around to catching up one of these years. Now I know we won't.
Hold your loved ones close, or something.

Sorry to hear that My old school buddy who survived a heart attack was here last week. He's pretty much fine now but I remember how weirdly deeply and personally it hit when I heard about it.

Yeah, one of our other classmates died in a climbing accident at 29,that was a shock but made sense. Another died doing a triathlon a couple of years ago. Natural causes at 49, though, that's a strange one to process.

It's always a mixed bag as to whether you should look up your former uni mates.I found out last year that one of mine, who asked me out but was one of those 'no sex before marriage' types, so I turned her down, has become a High Court judge. Another one has become so rich that his entire job now is being a business angel. I don't think digging up the past is a healthy pursuit at the best of times.
