Bindun?
Had to do this, even if it makes me come out of epic lurkage.

Last time I was in a GAME
I picked up a copy of the new Games Workshop Space Marine game - it was second-hand and priced at about £7.
The guy in the shop saw me looking, hurried over and said "I really wouldn't, mate. It's awful."

I'm not bothered really
All they needed to dow as stop ripping their customers off and they'd still be fine.

Well, that and not own 4 shops within 200 yards of each other.

This is true enough.
I work in a shopping centre in a CeX store. There are 3 Game stores and 1 Gamestation within 5 minutes walk of each other.
Absurd.
Some people I know are saying things like "well, it's good business for us". While possibly true, I still feel awful for the folks who are going to be out of work.
I reckon HMV will be the next big loser of the recession.

Yeah I don't get why everyone is up in arms now. They used to fuck customers over a barrel. They'd fuck them with new game prices, they'd fuck them at trade-in, they'd fuck them with second hand prices. It was rare indeed I'd buy in GAME and it became rarer with the realisation that the same game could be purchased on line for substantially less.
I think if they'd cut their stores down, hedged their bets with a proper online web store (not offering the same shitty deals as their shops), and a proper digital download service they might have been in a better place.
As it is they're just one more failed business. I'm more sorry to see Woolworths go which seemed to try a lot harder on price but was screwed by their own supply chain (as was Zavvi).

I was just amused at their "Spring Clean" sale
Only reason I ever went in was to laugh at the simulator games they picked up for PC.
How will I ever get Airport Fire-fighter Simulator now!?

Someone bought me a crane driver simulator from there once. It was indeed as shit as it sounds.

Betrayed his principles, voters and the rest of the country just so he could get a vote on PR.
Which he lost.
Anyone with any shred of self-respect would have topped themself by now.

I likey that alot :D
Was speaking to the guys in our "local" Game yesterday; they survived the cut but Gamestation's gone and Game has been considerably downsized. There again, if you at one point have 5 stores in one city (Swansea had 4 Game stores running and a Gamestation) it's going to struggle a bit.
Plus I knew the manager of one of the Gamestation branches, a complete cunt. Might throw a bottle of piss on him while he waits at the job centre :D

Shit, I didn't realise that Gamestation had gone as well
Our high street choice now consists of HMV, CEX and Cash Converters :(

FUCK
Always preferred Gamestation as they seemed like they hire the sort of people that actually play the games they sell.
