I may not like Blair or Mandelson but they were a fuck of a lot more competent than anyone we've had since and it's not like any of them are Farage.

Get over your fetish for Nigel Farage. He's never even been a MP, despite running about seven times.
He has never had his hands anywhere near the levers of power.

What's being an MP got to do with anything?
Who had power was completely irrelevant to the Brexitard vote, except for the large number of people who voted leave just as protest vote against the Tories. All 3 main parties had a significant majority that supported Staying (it's almost like they were slightly more informed than the electorate).
UKIP and it's oily leader had a significant effect on the vote and were hugely over-represented in the media - That should be rather obvious by looking at their votes before and after the Brexidiot debacle.

Jogger is multi-millionaire US investment banker (Of course he is!). He has an Audi R8 (of course he does!).
He claims he was in the US at the time and is presumably faking documents this very instant to prove this.

He's not the only person that's been arrested in connection to the investigation.
His solicitors have issued a statement saying he was in the USA at the time of the incident. I find this sour grapes and anti American inspired witch hunt rather distasteful, and quite possibly completely unjustified. You jokingly cite the fact that he is a rich, white American and therefore somehow fair game for public vilification and humiliation. Ho ho ho. Were he black, poor and African would you have made the same hilarious joke?

Poor black Africans are too busy trying to migrate to Lesbos in a rubber dinghy to have time to push people over whilst jogging in Putney.
This is where rich white men come in to fill the gap in the pushy-shove-shove market.

As with all these type of stories if it was him the best and first thing to do is turn yourself in say it was a dreadful accident (I was blinded by the sun, had sweat in my eye, was looking at my time) offer the woman some compensation and he will get a warning. Now because he as denied it and seems to be deleting social media history it will just get worse especially with the B3ta rozzers on his tail.
These sort of wankers are so arrogant they believe they did no wrong and someone can fix it for them at great expense.

I complained about it once in primary school and the teacher said she'd "been there thirteen times and always saw something new". Well yes.
Mens rea would be tough/impossible to prove. If such a charge as attempted manslaughter existed (it does not, for perfectly logical reasons, the very idea is absurd in fact) that would sort of fit. I think in the USA something like reckless endangerment of life exists in some states. I just don't think GBH is adequate. It's a fudge. Her injuries I imagine only qualify for ABH.

To be convicted of murder two things need to be proven beyond all reasonable doubt.
Actus rea. Easy. Is the victim dead and did an action of the defendant directly cause the death?
Mens rea. Harder. Did the defendant intend to kill them?

Anyway that's all irrelevant.
I forget what needs to be proven in a charge of attempted murder. Something along the lines of he tried to kill her is my best guess.

several nuances to the whole attempted murder thing...
Firstly, to go for murder, you have to show the intent to want to kill - usually with pre-planning. Secondly, for the 'attempt' there has to be an act 'more than merely preparatory' to show they were about to carry it out.
I think, in this case, a court would struggle with both aspects - he's just a fucking dick!

Indeed
No GBH/ABH as he didn't really injure her, however he did endanger her life. Even if he did not intend to seriously injure her, he did intend to push her out of the way, and did so with no further regard to her safety. This is not what a reasonable person would do. Therefore I'd say reckless endangerment:
"acts that create a substantial risk of serious physical injury to another person. The accused person isn't required to intend the resulting or potential harm, but must have acted in a way that showed a disregard for the foreseeable consequences of the actions".
The guy's a cunt, by the way.

He didn't attempt to murder anyone
He's a massive antisocial dick though and should be given the max possible sentence for that.
Charging him with GBH is the most extreme they can do and might be a problem because she wasn't really harmed - If he's got a good lawyer they might have problems making this stick (although I hope not). It was not sustained assault, it was one strike. If you look up common assault, it's literally exactly what's happened here:
https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/item/common-assault/2-common-assault/
Don't get me wrong, I think anyone that jogs should be locked up for the safety of the community at large but attempted murder? Nope.

I don't get the GBH thing
The news said the woman suffered only minor injuries (so why GBH?) but if you ask me pushing someone under a bus ought to be classed as attempted murder.

He clearly didn't see the bus though.
He was pushing her out of his way without any thought of the consequences, he wasn't specifically trying to kill or injure her.
Imagine the bus wasn't there at all; she didn't actually get hit by it and the guy wasn't aware of it, so in essence it is irrelevant to the case. Now you've just got a guy pushing a woman over for no reason.

He won't be able to justify it
But his lawyer will no doubt come up with some load of bullshit about him stumbling and putting his arms out, not realising that he has knocked her over and then on the way back not realising she has tried to get his attention because he has headphones on...or something worth £150 an hour anyway

Did she try to trip him up?
I've watched the video in slow motion and just before she gets pushed over, she appears to raise her right leg at him.
Or am I imagining it?

That's what I wondered when I watched it in slow motion. Hard to make it out.
I've certainly had my fair share of bell ends try to trip me when I'm running. Hilarious.
She doesn't seem to change her line when walking though, where he does.

I think you are trying really hard to make sense of it
He adjusts his trajectory at her. Her legs don't do anything trippy (like melt as if candles).
Explain what you think you are seeing, and maybe I can pretend to see it too.

The weirdest song I've heard today
Have you ever wondered what a band made up of:
Ginger Wildheart (The Wildhearts)
Shane Embury (Napalm Death)
Random Jon Poole (Cardiacs)
Mark E Smith (The Fall)
Merzbow
Denzel (Young Legionnaire)
Rich Jones (Amen/Black Halos)
Chris Catalyst (Eureka Machines/Sisters of Mercy)
Hawk Eyes
...would sound like? A little like Mr Bungle. They start off kind of thrashy and then turn Blur with a bit of Cyriak.

Heard them indeed. Interesting ingredients but it doesn't work for me.
Sadly, Ginger's not a well man right now. Wrestling with depression and currently been sectioned after a failed suicide attempt, he spent a night in the cells after a recent Norn Iron gig when he allegedly lamped someone who told him he hadn't produced anything worthwhile in years... seems to have pushed him over the edge poor chap.
He did a country and western inspired album recently that I liked... www.pledgemusic.com/projects/ghost-in-the-tanglewood

I really don't think it deserved the kicking it got at the time. I don't feel any need to rewatch it though.
