# with almost the entire world telling them not to vote for him
the fact that they're so close in the polls makes me think they're getting what they deserve.

# Trouble is, so are we.
I'm with you in thinking that the planet is fecked and is heading down the shit-chute at a surprising rate of knots, I'm afraid.

Can I be the announcer over the tannoy? I can do a vaguely eastern european accent. And can count backward from 20. Above 20, not so good. Hope this doesn't rule me out.

if so, you're in.

# I was hoping for a Nehru jacket and some thick-rimmed glasses.
Failing that, whatever Burt Kwouk wore in You Only Live Twice would do.

# Do you think it will make that much of a difference?
Not trying to be cynical, but apart from domestic policy (kicking the healthcare bill into the long grass) I don't think there will be much difference between the two internationally.

I'm guessing Romney might be more likely to drop GW Bush style gaffes than Obama, but the message on the middle east and China will not be very different.

# it's more the increasing downturn in the economy i'm worried about
romney seems to be all about the rich getting richer and screw the rest. where america leads, england tends to follow. either way, it's looking bad. i'm advising my clients to put all their money into canned goods and shotguns!

# David Icke may be a mental
But as for the "theory" that they are two puppets (regardless of party and name) controlled by lizards/aliens/lobbyists/corporations -delete as required- seems about right. I've not noticed a fucking thing between governments apart from them getting worse.

it's the only way to be sure.

# Hmmm. The theory is that tax breaks for the rich filter benefits down to the middle and working classes.
There are very few altruistic millionaires these days, off the top of my head the only one I can think of is Bill Gates. The millionaires of the last century built parks and civic buildings, schools and libraries. Today the rich seem happier spending it on themselves. Romney is part of this selfish group.
