was jack nicholson's performance. at least it was nowhere near as rambling and pointlessly odd as the book.

Nicholson's great as always and he gave it his all, but the script was lacking.
The book gave a reason for the stuff that happened rather than just 'man sees ghosts, goes mental'. Thought the TV movie was a bit better, much closer to the source anyway.

The Shining is a great film.
However, the longer, original US cut detracts from the European cut, in my opinion, by explaining too much
And the Room 237 documentary is a load of pointless bollocks.
