particle effects the other day when my computer went "nope, i dont think i'm going to do that" and gave up for about an hour.
Poor thing couldn't handle the math.

Actually my comp probably will be having none of it, he was using a top spec model, mine's not even a gig processor :)

I used video footage, then messed with the threshold, then imported into Flash and converted from bitmap to vector format.
