for £18.99 you could of got broadband from PlusNet (p2p is blocked)or £21.99 for everything (no blocks). I'm on the 21.99 package, and it's fantastic.

If you can get AOL broadbandyou can get PlusNet broadband. They all run on BT's infrastructure, so if your exchange is activated (which it obviously is, for AOL to work) then you can use any ADSL provider. You can see what I mean here. Enter your phone number and it will say your exchange is ADSL activated.

All of the services SHOULD work, in theory anyway.I know what you mean about the email though, my dad was in the same predicament. We just downgraded to their cheapest dialup package, thus keeping the email address, but still not paying too much.

Ah, but the loveliness iswe don't USE the dialup. We use our ADSL connection. Then we just check the email accounts through AOL.com (or using the AOL software in TCP/IP mode), so we only pay the £4.99 or whatever it is per month for the fee, and no actual phone costs (because we're not dialling up into their network).
Don't wanna sound like I'm having a go, just suggesting an alternative :)

They offer 1mb and 2mb at 20:1 contentionthose are not trials.
But they recently started offering 1mb and 2mb at 50:1 contention (meaning you could easily upgrade from regular 512 to 1mb without a lot of hassle) - but it's still in trial (all orders must be placed manually, the automated system is still in development).

The system I mean is with an ISP placing an order with BT for a line upgrade or regrade, it's the same for all ISPs.It sounds like you got the new trial 50:1 package (32.99 - the 20:1 was a lottt more expensive).

It was a bloody good halfpipe, though. 6ft with (I think) 10ft flat bottom, scaffold coving. We chopped it down to 4ft after about a year, as drunken chouchter surfers kept breaking their ankles and things on it, and it was more fun smaller, anyway.
