(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:25, archived)
# Oh.
Sorry, chaps.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:09, archived)
# don't say sorry
there are those who take great pleasure in PC shaping our lives

and there are those who accept humour for what it is

I'm in the the latter section

(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:18, archived)
# Shit, I think you're serious!
I think you're confusing a couple of issues here: PC-ness, and the clearly stated rules of posting on this message board.
Surely no-one could accuse this place of pandering to the former?
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:21, archived)
# I am
serious
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:32, archived)
# But NSFW means Not Suitable For Work
It's not PCness, it's so that boarders don't get sacked for being on b3ta. Give the poor night-shift workers a break, eh?
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:24, archived)
# You obviously
don't have a job where you could be dismissed for using your internet connection to view pornography then.

It's not about what the board's interpretation of acceptable humour is, but what could be (mis)interpreted by a jobsworth supervisor.

Things are rarely deleted (usually only in the cases of trolls) but they are simply linked to protect people casually glancing at the board during a break or lunchtime.

If anybody really wants to look, then they can look. Nobody is stopping them.

I know you have an issue after one (some) of your pics were linked. Maybe they were safe for work, maybe they weren't but it's probably better that the board errs on the side of caution when there is doubt.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:25, archived)
# I disagree
I've seen stuff linked on here that is so mild it almost reduces the site to a teletubby concept.

Really! I've seen stuff that has been linked here and then seen far far more risque stuff on billboards coming back from work
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:31, archived)
# oh shush
listen it's simple:

we try and keep the board safe for work but the site is run for fun.

there's a number of volunteers who mod stuff - but sometimes they're not available.

if you want consistency go and speak to your council or something.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:34, archived)
# yeah Rob I know it's run for fun
but what is the market you are looking for ?

if you get too "PC" you will always end up pandering to the lowest common denominator

hat means through fear you will have a site for 5 year olds within a few years
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:39, archived)
# Judging from the rest of the internet
allowing as much nudity and sex as possible would be pandering to the lowest common denomenator.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:47, archived)
# You're not getting it.
Things aren't linkied to protect the boarder's delicate sensibilities - for as we know, most of us have no such things.

It's to protect the boarders from getting sacked as their boss or shitty coworker wanders up and sees porn on their work screen. This is an instant dismissal offence at many, maybe even most, workplaces.

If the porneriffic pics weren't linkied you'd get almost no-one coming on the board during working hours, and that would be a serious drain on the talent present at any given time.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:52, archived)
# sad thing is
that most businesses need to stop such things in the workplace or be open to "hostile work environment" type problems.

'course all they need to do is have a policy and a quiet word every now and then... but most folks take it all too far.

# nadia is a tragic figure
she was crying like "the world accepts me now"

poor love - it's going to be a tough road ahead

I foresee copious amounts of cruel jokes leading to more cosmetic surgery for the woman...

# I wanted Jason to win
because it would piss off all the bookies who were giving 100 to 1 odd on him.
I can't believe I'm actually discussing this.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:16, archived)
# You are joking.
He and Victor were the biggest cunts to ever grace the television.

Especially Victor. I want to set Dugat on that bastard.

The strange thing is I didn't really watch it, I just absorb things.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:19, archived)
# Victor was pure class
Though I say that based mainly on the way that every time I saw him he was quoting Ric Flair.
WOOOO!
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:21, archived)
# Victor was ok in my book
he had a funny turn of phrase and he said stuff as he saw it.

Jason is a deeply confused individual who doesn't really know himself.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:21, archived)
# No, no, no
The only reason I wanted him to win was so the bookies would have to pay out thousands and thousands of pounds and it would obviously be a fix and there'd be a huge scandal about it.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:25, archived)
# I see.
I do apologise, as that would be quite amusing.
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:27, archived)
# Yes.

you are only angry because you wanted to wank every time she was in the shower, but felt a pang of guilt.

She'd gone the whole hog and had them lopped off?
(, Sat 7 Aug 2004, 0:11, archived)
# NO!
Please don't do that.

Besides, his/her/its dick is probably in a jar somewhere.

There were some cameltoe shots earlier this week. Disquieting, that was.
