# Very nice
tribute to an obviously well-loved dog.

I wish I could have gotten some footage of my old dog before my ex killed him by not feeding him his meds...

# Nooooo!
That really upsets me. Poor, poor doggy
(, Mon 21 Mar 2005, 22:57, archived)
# He was old
but still had a few years left in him. He was hypothyroid, so we had to feed him two pills a day. I found that if I wrapped them in cheese slices and tossed them to him he'd gulp them down happily.

When I moved out my ex couldn't be bothered to do it. The dog died under the back deck. Guess who had to take his body to the vet to be cremated?

As they took him out of my car I fuzzed up his head one last time, then burst into tears. Fuck, I still cry when I think about it...
(, Mon 21 Mar 2005, 23:03, archived)
# Eeep! Couldn't be bothered!
Went get my dog put down, as he could hardly walk and couldn't see a thing

He died peacefully in my arms

I was a wee bit confused as to why the vet wiped the patch of skin before he injected him... was he worried it would get infected? Also, when the vet let go of my dog paw it looked like he moved of his own accord, I almost shouted "he's still alive, I'm taking him back!"
(, Mon 21 Mar 2005, 23:08, archived)
# I had to take
my girlfriend's old cat to the vet last fall to be put down. She couldn't bring herself to do it, and I couldn't blame her... I held Bony one last time, then they gave him the shot. He looked angry, as he often did, but then relaxed a bit. I can at least take solace in the fact that the last thing he felt was me stroking his fur, and the last thing he saw was me looking into his eyes.

*raising a beer* Here's to old pets. They'll be with us forever.

# Yeah

# Sorry about your dog
I just got back from Uni on Saturday and was told my dog had been put to sleep.
I made this pic to go with my blog :'(

He really was a dog, but always wanted to be a reindeer.

# Me
a camera, a dog, a tripod and a computer with Adobe After Effects on it

# Did
You not use a green screen? How did you remove your body?
(, Tue 22 Mar 2005, 12:45, archived)
# Nope
I did it with animated masks.

Although it sounds painful and time consuming you'd be surprised how easy and quick it is. The trick is to use the keyframe interpolation to do the hard work for you, and using feathering a lot.

I'm in the process of writing a tutorial on making one of my shorts (from camera to AE to Imageready, with tips on optimsing gifs etc). I'll keep you posted
