# Oh, I completely forgot. I also went to Alexandra Palace, last Saturday. So have another panorama.

The photos from there are largely of magpies and my boyfriend, so no flickr goodness for those.

# is your boyfriend
at one with the magpies ?

# We saw eleven in one place (in Alexandra Park).
Eleven! That's something to do with Satan in the rhyme, I think.
(, Fri 26 Aug 2005, 22:39, archived)
# Google suggests various versions.
"ten for the devil's very own sel," whatever sel means. "ten for a time of joyous bliss," and "ten for gold". The only one I see that goes up to eleven makes it "a secret that will never be told". Lame.
(, Fri 26 Aug 2005, 22:47, archived)
# Intriguing.
I wonder what to make of that.
Joyous bliss and secrets not to be told, eh?
(, Fri 26 Aug 2005, 22:51, archived)
# "Sel" is poetic licence
aka sel' which is short (or Yorkshirese) for "self"

which still doesn't make a lot of sense, granted

yay for secretive joyous bliss though!

# And there was me thinking it was French for 'salt'.
/Sarcastic sod.
(, Fri 26 Aug 2005, 22:53, archived)
# Yeah right,
like "ten for the devil's very own French word for salt" makes for a memorable rhyme.

# There once was a b3tan called Ptolly.
Who commited a crime of great folly.
He took the piss out of Caro,
And was dumped in a barrow,
And pushed infront of a big lorry.

There's a memorable rhyme for you! :P

# ...
There once was a man from Tyersal[*]
Who named his tumble dryer Sal
It did a good job
Till it cut off his nob
So sadly he then had to fire Sal.

# I've tried making panoramas
but they wind up going diagonally instead of in a straight line.
Funnily enough, so does my writing if there's no lines on the paper.
