ok, this icon challenge thing...

i tried. this one turned out. the other two didn't:

(alarm clock and a cassette). oh well.

and it's my real life birthday in b3ta time, but i'm still a few hours shy over here. but there will be cake....

Been coaxing my two with various tasty treats lately.. also some new catnip toys, for exercise.

i played with last night and gave up after a while. only the 45 insert worked, but it's the one i most wanted to turn out, so i'm happy.

Why is it a 45 insert?

Surely you get them in EPs too?

45s had big holes, typically.

so they required inserts to fit on the turntable's spindle. some had built-in plastic fitters, some just had small holes, but most had large holes to speed up production. so, inserts (plastic and metal) were made and sold. i have hundreds of the stupid things.
