# As the festive season swoops majestically into view have this:
And also a request for help:I have a load of images of Mrs. Beast on a USB stick and I've copied them across to my machine - they are visible in thumbnail and filmstrip views with no problems, but some are coming up redexed when I try to open the file properly and half of them won't open in tattyshop at all. I'm getting the message 'Unable to complete your request because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete)' Any chance of a hand from a genius? Or failing that, someone who knows what they're doing?

# Easy,
what's happened is that the JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete).

What you need to do is make the JPEG marker segment longer, which should untruncate and complete it.

Happy to help!

Crikey.

You might want to try transcoding them. That might sort it out for you.

# try opening them in a decent package
like Paint Shop Pro - it's a bit better at file handling and convcersion so may overcome the error. Grab a demo off Corel.com
