# NEW IMAGE CHALLENGE - NOW ONLINE

Global Warming. The ice-caps are melting, the ozone is screwed, and WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE! This is what top scientists would have you believe, but what are the positive aspects of climate change? It can't be all bad, surely?
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:16, archived)
# no, I think we're all fucked
at the very least from the rioting and complete break down of society as everyone fights for food and space. :D
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:17, archived)
# But we'll be dead by then,
so it doesn't matter.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:18, archived)
# hardly, a conservative estimate is 30 years
going by the current rates.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:20, archived)
# that is bollocks. in 30 years from now not much will have changed. I bet you 20p.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:22, archived)
# ^thus^
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:24, archived)
# Yeah
According to Busted, nothing much will have changed by the year 3000.

Except that we'll live under water.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:25, archived)
# hahahaha
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:28, archived)
# England will be one of the first land masses to flood
and then freeze over

you're fucked!

# Then sod thinking about life and planning it all out,
I'm going to do everything spur of the moment, and think only about myself seeing as I'm buggered either way.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:24, archived)
# but you're not you see, we can stop this from happening. It really is possible
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:26, archived)
# not really
because there are too many self centred twats who don't care about other people or species.

Its a losing battle, the human race is going to fuck itself in the arse, hard and without lube.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:28, archived)
# I'm with Busted
I want to live underwater.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:31, archived)
# not the entire human race. Where I live we'll survive the intial catastrophe
all the over populated cities/countries will be destroyed. There will be about 500 million people worldwide and we'll repopulate the planet with peoples who worship the land and give thanks to the sustenance it gives.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:33, archived)
# that's if the chavs don't kill you first
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:36, archived)
# I have a plan
but first I'm slowly becoming carbon neutral so at least I can say I tried
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:39, archived)
# bring it on
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:19, archived)
# you are thinking of that film
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:19, archived)
# :D
you can compo that
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:20, archived)
# HO! HO! HO!
mmm...Soylent Green
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:24, archived)
# Pfft!
That is brilliant.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:26, archived)
# as long as i finally get a nintendo wii, ill be reet
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:26, archived)
# Well we would have to shave all t3h fluffy kittins for a start
bald pussy for everyone woooooo!!!!!!!
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:19, archived)
# morning morning global warming...
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:20, archived)
# I just hope all the "save the earth" morons die first
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:20, archived)
# ^This
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:21, archived)
# could be interesting
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:21, archived)
# Teh quo did it!
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:21, archived)
# so you set an image challenge i have a PhD in then?
well before i explode can i just make it plain clear that the ozone hole is abso-fucking-lutely nothing to do with global warming.

now that's out of my system i'll be slightly happier, but i feel this is going to be a long week...
sorry to be a miserable washed up scientist type, but unfortunately that's my job
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:21, archived)
# we fixed the ozone problem, we can fix this
c'mon, who's with me?

*burns bra*
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:24, archived)
# Why doesn't the ozone hole have anything to do with it?
(someone had to ask)
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:26, archived)
# CFC's not carbon build up
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:28, archived)
# But I thought (and I may well be wrong)
that the ozone hole let more of the Sun's rays through which then can't get back out again. CFCs destroy the ozone hole, other gases block the light's escape. Greenhouse Effect, y'see? isn't it what happened to Venus? Granted, I'm not an expert on the matter...which is why I asked the question.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:35, archived)
# ozone layer
protects from ultraviolet
greenhouse effect transmission of infrared radiation
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:43, archived)
# Fair does
Makes sense now.
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:46, archived)
# We'll have one giant swimming pool!
...or one giant Ice Rink....or one giant bonfire? :o/
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:22, archived)
# England?

Swimming Pool, then the current will cease and you'll freeze over
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:27, archived)
# Dang
I'll be a novelty frozen guy under the Ice Rink doing the front crawl *sob*
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:33, archived)
# Oh noes!
I bet all the tsunami jokes are going to be amongst the first to be reposted, even though they'll be missing the essential point of the compo
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:26, archived)
# FACT
The man who invented putting lead into petrol. also invented putting CFCs in fridges.

According to Stephen Fry on QI

Do i win a prize?
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:40, archived)
# No, because
Stephen Fry read it in a Bill Bryson book in any case
(, Wed 6 Dec 2006, 22:42, archived)
