# imageready?
tbh i'm not sure what you're asking
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:36, archived)
# I think that he's asking what imageready cannot do
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:38, archived)
# ..
ill check imageready , ta ..

( in tattyshop, you can rotate and scale individual layers, which isnt possible in gif animator, meaning more frames have to be premade )

# Imageready is pretty much photoshop
but not. It's all animatey and stuff.

EDIT: meaning it's probably good for what you want.
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:41, archived)
# nope it's not
you can only do translation and transparency of layers on a frame by frame basis.
Rotations and (I think) scaling are applied to all the frames.

# they are?
I've only had it a few weeks, haven't really played with it much yet. My bad.
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:48, archived)
# it's a pity in fact
Imagerady is a nice tool, except for that ugly feature.
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:54, archived)
# well, it kind of HAS to
it is still the same layer after all, no matter what frame you're in

and duplicate layers with those effects applied is easy enough to do
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 23:10, archived)
# Unless I misunderstood
If you're using photoshop, you can jump back and forth between that and Imageready - they come together.

Click 'file' then 'jump to', and you'll probably find it's already there.

(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:43, archived)
# Or
CRTL-SHIFT-M in either program to jump to the other
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:46, archived)
# You can't rotate layers in imageready
without rotating them throughout the whole movie

you have to pre-make them all in photoshop first

so if this is what you're asking, imageready is not for you
try flash instead
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:44, archived)
# fireworks does it fine
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:46, archived)
# Aah yes
it does indeed

that's been a long time for me
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:47, archived)
# I always found
Flash makes horribly lumpy .gif files.

For sure you can't rotate and scale single frames in Imageready, but if you open the file in PS, then jump to Imageready, you can actually just tab back and forward between them - it keeps them synched automatically.

It's probably more work, but once you get used to it it's a logical way to work. I have dual monitors, so I have one on each screen.
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:50, archived)
# Yeah, that's how I work too
in fact, down to the two monitors, that's exactly how I do it :)
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:55, archived)
# i'd say the gimp
but i don't think anyone else would agree with me
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:37, archived)
# Could be a good one to use
Reminds me of Gremlins

Edit: I use The GIMP and it's always been fine
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:38, archived)
# Flash?
(, Wed 11 Jul 2007, 22:37, archived)
# i edit each frame using either paintshop pro or corel
then use animation shop to paste em altogher
i think thats what your asking
Yay squeezey head kittens!

# ta
sounds like there is no easy roate, and we're all animating by hand,
doing lots of beautiful frames.

# .
Flash will actually produce an animated gif, so I guess you could automate it to an extent, but the results aren't always great.

I have never tried gimp, but it gets very mixed reviews . . .
