Watch out for the Red Death...

# Last week
evidence so far suggests that the Red Death did not attend, and I didn't spot Vincent Price anywhere.

# Lovely stuff
We bought some of these from Venice a few years back. Nicely done

# There were some in the shops for about £15
so I decided that a couple of evenings with a load of papier-mâché and some paint would be cheaper and more fun. Top tip: use PVA glue instead of flour for the papier-mâché so it doesn't start to stink after a few days.

# I bought a £2 basic-shape mask and built up the structure on that
the nose was done with cardboard, the forehead and nostrils were built up with the papier-mâché.

# thats really cool, did you use newspaper?
(, Wed 14 Nov 2007, 18:25, archived)
# Yep,
top tip 2: never leave a plain cut edge on the bits of paper. Only ever use torn edges, they absorb the water better, and so create a smoother final surface.

I feel like Tony Hart.

# I hate masks.
Not ones like these, just the bland non expressive ones.
