and made no reference to the file size. However seeing as you want to direct the nazi comment I shall say this. I don't make the b3ta faq, I do however read it and know not to piss people off by flaunting it. The other thing I will say is that taking a video clip from a silent comedy movie and making it loop is no kind of talent. Even if it were some kind of talent it's not the OP's because it's not his.
Edit: get a decent job? I retired 7 years ago and could probably buy your fucking council estate.

Monthly transfer limits + b3ta is risky business at the best of times.

If you join a graphics-based website then get to grips with the foundations; ie: it's not going to work if everyone throws out 'save for web at maximum' or 2mb gifs in this context. The board would grind to a hault, even for most users on broadband, or become pointlessly expensive to simply have a b3ta laugh. That was funny but pointlessly large, the remark about being a board nazi was fucking daft

that if your animation is reaching megabytes in size, then it's probably just too big and long to really suit the animated gif format anyway.
You should probably think about making it a flash animation, or uploading to youtube or something.

but with added extra large feck off.
I have a 4mb connection but unfortunately it's restricted to 3gb per month. That is not a lot.
And I don't have a choice.
The guidelines exist for a reason whether you like them or not agree with them or not is not the issue.
As far as getting a job? Pfff. Pasanonic summed it up nicely.
We are not all penniless students.

imagine if every post was as bloated as that
even with decent broadband, it'd be like trying to read b3ta back on dialup again. it was that whole 'not worth the wait' shit that put me off the site for ages

Have another read of the faq and have a look at Lemonys optimisation guide to see where you went wrong.
Don't be disheartened, we all make mistakes.

when we really try to keep them no bigger than 250KB.
It's a bit of a faux pas and the people on b3ta like nothing better than shouting at faux pas.
[edit] I always have to wonder about people who post a picture to complain about a picture that is too big. They clearly just enjoy moaning without really understanding the reasons they are doing it.

but maybe not in the way intended.
I just find it amusing when somebody posts a 200KB animated gif to complain about a picture that strayed a few KB over the limit.
Way to reduce the download burden for everyone.
