# Mr Barrett is a muddy musician who used to be in a small time colloquial British band called Pink Floyd.
They had a few songs played on the hit parade.
Barratts make new houses for people who don't understand anything.

# Syd Barrett was the original leader of Pink Floyd.
At the time they were very psychedelic.
Then came whiney Roger Waters, and finally David Gilmour
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:05, archived)
# ooooh.
Well...I guess that's why I'd heard of Syd Barrett then. :p
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:06, archived)

They're my favourite band, which is why I keep making pictures of them. Like one I replied to mofaha down there with *points*

# Oh okay.
Why are you shutting up? I dont mind hearing about music or anything. Or could you just ramble about Pink Floyd like I could about Fall Out Boy?

/not proud of that
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:19, archived)
# I can ramble on about Pink Floyd for hours.
And love to do so.
/is proud
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:20, archived)

Yeah, I could ramble about Fall Out Boy or Panic! At The Disco. I'm less proud of the Fall Out Boy ramblings.

# Whiney Waters?
I think you need to do your homework
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:13, archived)
# What do you mean?
After Syd they were a bit aimless, then Waters took over, and failed miserably with The Wall, all the time moaning about his dad.
Then Gilmour ressurected the band in the later years
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:15, archived)
# I feel very differently about it
Those last 2 albums were terrible.

After Syd left, Waters took over and they became one of the biggest selling bands of all time.
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:17, archived)
# Just because I can't stand Roger Waters?
I have to admit, I like The Final Cut, but the last two + DSoT and Pulse are better.

Oh, and Meddle is very good.
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:19, archived)
# You can't stand the main songwriter!
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:21, archived)
# Liking the songs and liking the writer are two different things.
I like a couple off the wall, but that album was epic fail for him.
He did, however, make up for that previously with Animals and Meddle.
However, nothing compares to the lyrics of Sorrow. Except possibly Echoes, but that goes without saying.
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:23, archived)
# oooh
waters did take things a bit too lyricsy

but the wall was a masterpiece methnks (although it's a bit long winded)
gilmour was too clinical on his own - pink floyd only works properly with gilmour and waters together
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:24, archived)
# LIES
The Wall was fail.
I like Gilmour's stuff. Especially The Division Bell
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:28, archived)
# All I can say is...
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:55, archived)
# I agree, although the Wall was a bit much
It's the all four of them that made it work..

Did you see this?

# I've heard she's a bit of a snob.
Is that true?
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:16, archived)
# Yep she was a little
to be fair on Nick, he gave Acland Burghly alot of money to the music department apparently, my mum used to be on the PTA
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:18, archived)
# I've been after his book, actually, Inside Out.
It looks quite good.
He was the only one there for the entire time, was he not?
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:21, archived)
# Haven't a clue matey
Pink Floyd never really did anything for me Miles Davis didn't do far better, besides Meddle
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:28, archived)
# *bumps in here*
Inside Out is the best Floyd book ever. I'm a big Floyd fan, and there are some anecdotes in there.. unbelievable. Nick is a really funny writer, too!

Bit of a shame Waters demanded whole stories should be edited out..
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:38, archived)
# Because he's a whiny, selfish, arrogant git, yes.
I think I need to find some Jethro Tull. I have been told they are good (noticing your name there)
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:40, archived)
# Yeah, I kind of agree..
..but he is a lyrical genius. Even though he's a whiny cunt and fired Rick for no apparent reason other than just disliking him. And to think I'm paying money to see The Bastard in May, oh!

There's a great Tull album called Living In The Past, it's pretty much a greatest hits sort of thing. If I were you, I'd get that and see how you like it!
And Thick As A Brick is genius, but basically one long track, which is good, but not for everyone.
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 21:48, archived)
# If you haven't seen him playing in the past 3 years
You're in for a treat, Water is the creative genius. I've seen Floyd and Waters live and in my mind, Roger has the edge.
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 22:02, archived)
# I've never seen him live
I'm looking forward to it. But I have to say, if I had to choose between a Gilmour or a Waters concert, I'd go for Gilmour.

Waters may have written the genius lyrics, but Gilmour has the musical talents. Roger's voice hurts my ears, most of the time.

Stil.. omg yay! as it's called.
(, Sun 27 Jan 2008, 22:10, archived)

i wish i bought his christmas tree when it came on ebay or one of his bikes.

yellow shoes, plastic feet, blue velvet trousers that make him feel pink, a paisley shirt that makes him look like a jerk, turquoise waistcoat (quite out of sight), a bad haircut and black watch?

Google harder, man! ;)
