# sounds like you need a new eastbridge

(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 11:40, archived)
# Yeah I think as the computer is being used to the max
it's not getting a stable stream of audio data, so what you're getting is what they call parity errors. Where when the data is reassembled after compression there are too many errors to play properly.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 11:43, archived)
# i'll just put up and shut up then
also thanks mr toast as well. and if i find an eastbridge is something rude i'll be getting out my big hunting gun.

# There's a great programme I use called FreeRam
cost nothing and just sits on your desktop and frees up ram when you ask it to.

# ta,
i think i've run that before, didn't really understand it so lobbed it out again, the odd break up isn't really that much of an issue, i was just wondering really if i just needed to fiddle with something to fix it, but it's pretty much as i thought, my little machine hasn't quite got the poke it needs, much like me really but that's another story.

# Wel to shop the problem
You have to beat it at tic tac toe.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 12:07, archived)
# no, that's normal
it's just that Adobe is shit and memory intensive even when its starting. It's taking everything it can from other processes just to get it's great lumbering arse upright.
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 11:43, archived)
# to be fair though they sorted out the sluggishness with CS3 <3

which is bloody fast now :)

# Plus windows is primarily coded off office apps whilst mac of is
coded for audio visual.

# this
my MacBook's on-board Sound is superior to my PC's not-that-cheap Creative Soundcard (Latency-wise at least)
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 11:52, archived)
# That's actually a hardware issue
I'm talking about the coding structor of the operating system. I've had awesome sound from a PC. WIth hardware is actually down to the laser cut of the sound card. To do it properly has a high reject rate. So the cheaper ones don't use the best methods.
SOrry I used to lecture audio, I can get quite geeky sometimes:P

# I may actually fall in love if you continue

# my onboard sound is ghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhahaihhaighIAGeHIAGIHEAHGAHdihdahia
so I use ancient soundblasters that actually seem to work ok

which is nice
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 12:10, archived)
# no probs :)

I upgrade the full innards of my comp..cost me a fair bit, but it's worth it if you want to run 2 graphics programs and music at the same time :)
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 11:44, archived)
# did you try using some other program than that shitty Windows Player?
my specs are about the same and I've no problems (using winamp)
Edit: maybe a proper soundcard with more more physical buffer would help?
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 11:44, archived)
# I find winamp breaks up quite a bit
especially when I'm rendering in Mental Ray. But it's to be expected really
(, Sat 8 Mar 2008, 11:46, archived)

don't you just love PCs?
