# There was a fat man on Mastermind
answering questions on the Godfather trilogy as his specialist subject.

In the General Knowledge round, he had a question about Morrisey.
(, Mon 24 Mar 2008, 20:38, archived)
# was one of the questions
'why is part three?' the first two were enough, why make the third one? why? it was dreck, even stooping so low as to put his own daughter in it? i mean! for fuck's sake! WHY?'

because if it wasn't, it should have been

# No.
I have only seen the first film all the way through, and I thought it was pretty shite to be honest with you.

The Godfather Books (The Godfather and The Sicilian) are bloody amazing though and I had read them dozens of times before seeing the films....
(, Mon 24 Mar 2008, 20:48, archived)
# i respectfully disagree
both part one and two are masterful pieces of cinema

i haven't read the book, but i may well do now you've mentioned it
(, Mon 24 Mar 2008, 20:50, archived)
# I think its the same as always though.
When you have read the books so many times, you create this world in your head. And then it becomes manifest with all of these actors that you know so well and it doesnt really fit. There was a lot of stuff that wasnt in the film that I thought were the best parts of the book. Like the whole Al Neri character. I thought he was horrifically under-developed in the film.
(, Mon 24 Mar 2008, 20:53, archived)
# fair do's
yeah i know, it's generally my feeling that if a book is adapted for screen, it's best to watch the movie before reading the book (if you haven't already, obviously)
i imagine this is especially the case here as the story is bound to be seriuosly involved and convoluted
(, Mon 24 Mar 2008, 20:55, archived)
# It is one of those books that has to be read in your lifetime!
It is amazing!

up to 1.7 times faster than firefox it says, i wonder if that means animated gifs go mental, the firefox speed difference is tricky enough to cope with.

Good luck to you, though, Safari was laughably slow for me.

Do remember to to keep an eye on Apple Updater unless you want it to install programs you don't have.
