Oh, yeah, you've really given me something to work with there...
You bugger. I'll see what I can do (probably not today, though) It's *much* harder to do words that aren't recognisable - it's amazing how much the gestalt affects the perception. /pretentiousblog

I write the word down as many different ways I can think of until I start to notice correspondences. In this case the key was breaking the M up. Sometimes they just work perfectly, others never quite come together. I have never worked out how to ambigram my own username at all.

christ
all this time I thought you had a special program to do it
There is a little web applet which just replaces letters by a 1-1 correspondence
but you need to work a bit harder than that to get anything decent. I can do the technical bit well, but I still don't quite have the facility with letterform designs to get it perfect. Plus I can never be arsed.

goshness
the word I tried has the same tall spiky letter / small round letter problem as yours I think.

Don't forget that there are different kinds of symmetry
You can make reflecting ones too (http://www.b3ta.com/board/8148533) or put the word vertically instead of horizontally (http://www.b3ta.com/board/8477620), or various other combinations
