# Fire when ready commander!
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:13, archived)
# do we have to have another
lesson on the meaning of the word 'caricature'?
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:18, archived)
# I suppose if he did the original Hawking lego model
(which I'm pretty sure he didn't) It might count. But it ain't. And it don't.

# When I think of him I think of the chair...
...so that's where my thoughts lead me.

# By the way Octo
'tis a classy picture, but not sure it should be compo'd.
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:21, archived)
# I have decompomafied it
with my decompomafiometer. :-)

# Good man.
Nice Jesus-hula anim by the way. Good stuff.
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:24, archived)
# It's a great
and amusing image which I like. I just don't see the need to compo it.
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:21, archived)
# ffs, im sorry i even thought of suggesting it now.

learn to make them it's not that hard. geez i wonder how some people on here learned to shit.

(although the little leggo thing in the bottom is a caricature...) edit: sorry that's a general rant rather than one at this thread.

# Not to be a whinger or owt bud........
.....but some people (like myself for example) can't draw for SHIT.

So we're limited as to what we can do.

# there's the shop option.
take a person, shop the crap out of it (but make sure it's still vaguely recognisable.) if people get into it that way then everyone can be happy.
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:31, archived)
# I agree up until the Einstein one.
I don't see how that is a caricature. Merely a mashing of his photo as far as I can see....
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:28, archived)
# it's exaggeration to create a portrait, (by mashing a photo)
there is also the approach taken by prodge in a pic that i thought would be good for the compe: take a pic of shane mcgowan and shop the gob onto a feathery bird, and give it a big glass of the black stuff.

boom. also recall the front page by TGA, where he shopped a george lucas beard onto jabba.

this is what i had in mind...

# The Einstein one is
the epitome of caricature. A caricature is not exclusively a drawing and neither is it always an image.
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:46, archived)
# I thought a caricature
was a depiction of a characteristic of a person, be it physical or otherwise.

So the robot suggests Stephen Hawking's awesome technical brain?

Perhaps?

Maybe?

Well, I didn't think it was just mashing up someone's face to make them look different anyway.

but i'm crazy for some Assemble Borgs!

# Threadrush!
Good stuff here.
I predict that the boundaries of this image challenge are going to be interpreted very loosely.
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:19, archived)
# the clue to cracking this challenge is in the word 'caricature'

and the number 7
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:20, archived)
# Fine - it's decompoed
Not decomposed as my spellcheck keeps telling me. :-)
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:21, archived)
# I think this counts personally
In fact I think it's quite an original one.
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:22, archived)
# i think the leggo thing on it's own is compo worthy :)
and tis a good pic
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:23, archived)
# if he made it..
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 15:49, archived)
# No, he didn't.
He's taken a pic of the figure in the wheelchair, and a pic of the mech, and shopped them together.

The main blue figure is an exact mirror of the one in the smaller pic, but with a blurry edge to the back of the seat.
(, Fri 23 Jan 2009, 16:10, archived)
# I think you've got his face down to a tee.
