His dad ran a factory and used to buy a big bowl of balut for the workers at christmas time and a couple of times fights broke out, they love their half-formed eggs so much.

Everyone used to grab as many as they could and then sit at their desks, guarding them with their lives and looking at everyone else suspiciously.
