It seems that in general
People find it amusing if the person/people dying are shopped in a way that is creative/amusing, but not where a picture of someone suffering has had just got some random picture stuck next to it.

I'd go with that
One of the other sources that gets the reaction is the man about to be shot, that was used only a few threads down without too much complaint.
I've seen them used and just decided to hide the images but I've probably seen them used better and at least smiled before.

i dont find it too pleasant either, but i KNEW this pic (and the napalm one) would crop up in this compo. Its a maelstrom of hull-inducing imagery.
