Some people seem to be angry. Mostly I've been playing along with the chinese jumpy guy bandwagon (and I suppose I probably look like the ringleader to some) because Marvel/Disney is a nice idea, but it started on Monday and once you go beyond the more famous characters and every possible combination and permutation of them it really does start to drag. That said, there have been some super entries and I've enjoyed, commented on and clicked many of them, but I like this as an alternative for people who don't want to do the same ideas/don't have any interest in cartoons and superheroes. Like me.

And I know it might seem strange to some to object to a compo for being too narrow and then suggest everyone shop one single image, but you only have to look at the entries so far and that mental epilepsy-inducing chinese forum to see how much scope there is. It's probably mostly a gayshift bandwagon topic, but frankly cartoons v superheroes is more of a dayshift bandwagon topic than a image challenge, and I'd like to think they can peacefully coexist.

The top few are all Marvel/Disney and they're cracking ideas well executed. But beyond that there is a massive drop in quality to the rest of the sensible pictures, many of which (already) are binduns. From from 7th to 60th, 33 of the posts are Chinese guy. That's well over half. And the Chinese guy posts aren't just the middle of the road ones, there's 8 of them in the top 20.

It's just a bit of fun, a separate compo would be nice but I honestly don't think it's pissing on anyone's parade. It just provides an alternative to what is a good, but limited, image challenge.
