# fucknuts
dreamhost finally got annoyed with b3tards.com using up all their bandwidth. It'll be down for a little bit, I'm afraid.

EDIT: back up again

# That's alright
:D I am always forever grateful to you anyways.

# OH SHI-!
That said, my thanks for it all none the less.

# Double fucknuts :(

# There you go

I just had to make that image more disturbing, hope you don't mind.

# Well you certainly succeeded :)

# \o/

# all I see is more 'sexxxy'

# oh my, quite

# Just out of curiosity
was "all their bandwidth" less than what they promised at the start?

I've known a few people have their sites taken down when they were using less than the advertised amount.

# it's like "unlimited" means "COMPLETELY FUCKING LIMITED"
stop messing with our words! marketing bitches!
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 1:50, archived)
# never really had any problems with them up until 50 minutes ago
most other people I know who had problems with dreamhost were actually hitting their cpu limits (rather than bandwidth)
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 1:52, archived)
# :(
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 1:49, archived)
# I always wondered about b3tards,
how much does it cost you to keep up? There's no advertising on it so it can't be for free, but unless I'm absolutely witless you don't mention it anyway. I make heavy use of B3tards and I feel a bit guilty each time because all that bandwidth can't come for free.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:05, archived)
# it used to cost $120 / year
which I really didn't mind paying myself
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:09, archived)
# you sure??
i highly doubt you'd have trouble getting that money back from your users -- i'd certainly be happy to chip in. seems rather unfair, you forking out over 120 dollars a year so that i can fill the internet with badly-photoshopped pictures and crude scribblings... although it is very much appreciated :)
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:17, archived)
# Yeah
Even a nominal charge of $5 a year, 24 subscribers and you'd be covered.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:29, archived)
# I'd suggest a wikipedia-style donation thermometer for $120 once a year.
Because otherwise I strongly suspect you'll get way more than that.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:34, archived)
# that might not be a bad idea
unless he wants to make some extra money.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:41, archived)
# Or
reinvest any profit in extra features, bandwidth, pizza, etc.

How many current users are there, robtoo?
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:44, archived)
# I count 22 different users posting pictures hosted there in the last 24 hours.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:51, archived)
# bit hard to say
because b3tards never really had "accounts" per se. there are about 135,000 files on there at the moment.

EDIT: god only knows what all that stuff is
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 2:51, archived)
# porn probably
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 3:04, archived)
# Because the internet needs a backup for all its porn.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 5:39, archived)
# It would be good if
we had a feature to delete unwanted stuff there too. I uploaded a few things that I would like to delete but am unable to.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 9:59, archived)
# you can upload a file (say a 1px by 1px white image) with the same name
in effect replacing it and getting rid of the original.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 10:14, archived)
# Aha!
I wondered if overwriting would work but was too afraid of making b3tards implode if I tried.
(, Wed 9 Dec 2009, 10:59, archived)
# actually, I may have been resposible for
breaking b3tards a couple of times...
