# Everyone would apparrently love the wire
And 24
And prison break
And lost
And flash forward
And the west wing

BUT I DONT WANT TO SPEND EVERY WAKING MOMENT OF MY LIFE WATCHING A BILLION EPISODES OF SOME TV PROGRAM!

I hate it when people keep pleading with me to watch the above programs...

# you should watch Eastenders

# programmes :P

# Pffft.

# Yeah that's just it; once something has been on for years it takes a massive commitment to catch up with it

# The Wuffle Bunny Guide To TV Series:
the wire - Brilliant the best ever superlatives are not enough etc etc.
24 - Fantastic great fun "dammit" drinking games good times.
prison break - Meh.
lost - Got boring quickly.
flash forward - Got very boring very quickly.
the west wing - Takes some getting into but well worth the effort.

# 24 is a parody of itself these days
I don't think I've ever seen TV as formulaic as the last season.

Still good fun though.

# ah yes, the '24' drinking game
'happy days' :)

*still loves 24, regardless*
/has also stuck with Lost and Flashforward

# I've stuck with Lost as it's still entertaining bunkum
Gave up on 24 when it went to Sky. Frankly it was only ever going to really work for one series and that series didn't work because they only commissioned half of it.

Never watched The Wire, Prison Break, Flash Forward or The West Wing.

# I'm keenly looking forward to the last season of Lost
half because I've really enjoyed the last season, (and as you say, it really is enjoyable hokum) and they could go out on a high, and half because I want to see if they really can tie everything up convincingly at the end.

# I got lost on Lost
during season 3 when the focus was more on "the others" and all the initial mystery/fantasy was lost. From all I hear it picks up on the mysterious aspect in later seasons in which case I may rent some to catch up.

# season three drudged along a bit, season 4 picked it up (introduced several newbies)
season 5 delved right into the mythology (jacob/island especially)
and ended on a high.
Season 6 promises a lot, *fingers crossed* it delivers

# Is 6 the last one?
I thought it was going to 7
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 12:14, archived)
# Nope, next season is the last (17/18 episodes)
they have a lot to cram in
/starts Feb.
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 12:16, archived)
# Now that sounds more like it.
It was the mythology that set it apart from anything else on TV at the time and I was gutted they tried to ground it in too much reality (cf. Phantom Menace & midi-chlorians vs. The Force).

# The West Wing was ace

# I've stuck with Lost as it's still entertaining bunkum
Gave up on 24 after season 2 or 3. Frankly it was only ever going to really work for one series and that series didn't work because they only commissioned half of it.

hey...what a coincidence!

# haha, you are my Dutch Equivalent!
It is my theory that everyone in the world has a Dutch Equivalent.
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 12:12, archived)
# Hahaha that's a good theory
and probably correct too

# I gave up on 24 after series 3.
I've stuck with Lost, and am sticking with FlashForward even though it is a pile of pants

I also like Defying Gravity.
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 11:58, archived)
# series three was pants (in comparison) to say the least
season 5 more than made up for that though :)

# series 5 of 24 was fantastic
I loved the happy shopper Nixon President.

I quite enjoyed the last series, especially the fruity and feisty sidekick he picked up.

But all the toing and froing with TOOONNNYYYY!!!!! got a bit annoying after a while

# thankfully he may just have a 'minor' role in the last season
/at best. It's not been confirmed even if he shows up.
He's not in the promo pic, anyway:

# I thought his wife killed him in season 6?
oh, but when did that matter in the 24-iverse
(, Thu 10 Dec 2009, 12:43, archived)
# no no, early in season 7, Renee did say that he was still alive and living on his retreat still
he survived, and has been confirmed as coming back next year

# I can't believe you're saying this

If someone recommends a show to you, you should very well spend a couple of days watching it. Until someone else recommends something else.
If you play your cards right, you could be watching television all the time!
