The now seemingly regular jaunt to Leeds is confirmed as this Thursday!
An afternoon and evening jaunt, here's a run-down of where to find us:
12pm: Leeds City Train Station. There's a Wetherspoons in the station. Be prompt, because at 1pm we're off to...
1pm: Headingley. Mini Otley Run. This is essentially a drink (or two) in every bar from Headingley back towards Leeds City Centre.
EDIT! Pub List! Here's a few bar's that make a usual Otley Run (with brief reviews from Itchyleeds.co.uk). Feel free to add/edit/berate as you like, we've got no fucking chance of sticking to it.
Woodies - Otley Run birthplace. Itâs a nice enough place to drink, in the same way that Guernsey is a nice enough place to visit. It just isnât strictly necessary.
Three Horsehoes - There's decent food, very pretty bar staff and ridiculously cheap booze.
New Inn - The stone floors and wooden furniture give it a homely kind of feel. Quite.
The Box - lazygamer: We can't go in there, I never paid the last time I went and the bouncers have good memories apparently.
Original Oak - The Oak has secured its reputation as Headingleyâs premier drinking hole since the Skyrack lost its grip.
Skyrack - Not everyoneâs cup of tea, but nonetheless an integral part of the Headingley experience. Quick pint in for the show of things :)
Hyde Park - Naff décor, badly modernised and full of students chatting about what they chatted about in the library all day.
Library - Itâs big, it sells booze and does some food to keep the energy levels up.
Packhorse - Packing âem in since 1904 (or whenever), the Horse is a refurb waiting to happen (since itâs one of the only proper pubs left in the vicinity)
Eldon - No info. Maybe its a mystery bar.
Fenton - Ahhh, they donât make them like this any more. - This, ladies and gentlemen, is a REAL bar.
Dry Dock - A pub in a barge. Simple as that :)
Bourbon - Because its a Leeds b3ta bash. Just because.
Fooooooood somewhere along this way.
7pm: The Elbow Room. 100yds past The Cockpit.
Late: Fab Cafe. Again. Maybe. Or the Cockpit. Who knows.
If anyone wants my mobile number either 4rthur me a PM or my e-mail address is in my profile :)
DOUBLE EDIT: The map link is wrong, the Elbow Room is roughly where the bottom left of the arrow icon is, and not where the icon points to (which is another nice bar, but not the one we're off to!)

Leeds bash! Pool! Sherbert!

edit: Christy.. reading that agenda leads me to believe I'll not be getting a train home like last time... anyone got some floor space I could use up please?

If I can get someone to cover me, and find a suitably late train home I think I'll be up for that.

head, maybe.
i live barely half a mile from the M1, so you can park down our drive.
whether I can let a complete stranger (to my parents) sleep on our sofa is a different matter.
then again, i live 2 minutes from a Travel Inn too.

but this morning the thought of getting to leeds and drinking large quantities of booze all day, interspersed by walking in the rain made me want to die. So I stayed in bed, and felt quite turdy

it's (almost) traditional... plus it's much harder for me to run away from the cockpit

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I've done the ottley run many times, and they always end in disaster.
I may just turn up (not sure yet).
edit: yay the Fenton, but still not sure if I can go yet. Oh and the Eldon is a great pub too - I would recomend missing out the packhorse and going in there as it's next door and a LOT nicer.
edit2: I may com along on the otley run bit and have a couple but can't make it in the evening. I'll phone somebody
/doesn't like the packhorse
