Teh b3ta tent bash!!

Presented in association with crazyjude

In line with what the owner of the site owner of Monsal Head has said, i.e. no to us lot (oh well, his loss!) I have found an alternative site, nice easy access, with train station nearby (Edale), and reasonable prices. Also has hiking available to nearby Kinder Scout, and a pub or two as well. Also, one of the best cafes in the UK is a short hop on the train away.

Should Edale not interest you... it is also a short way from open access land where we can basically do what the fuck we want :)

Basically, it's a b3ta mini-festival, over three days- travelling down on the 18th, getting uproariously drunk on the 19th, and staggering back on the 20th.

::UPDATE:: 14/06/06 16:10pm

The campsite have got back to me... I have made a provisional booking for 15 people and 8 tents. Please confirm by way of reply to this, by the end of June at the very latest, if you are coming, and if you are bringing a tent.

::UPDATE:: July 7th, 14:43

Ok you lovely people the campsite has now been booked. We are confirmed for drinking, tents and shenanigans of some sort. I shall be tripping out at about 2/3pm and setting up, people can meet me there. More to come...

You mean Bakewell Tarts

And yes, I suppose I could throw a couple together and bring them with...

(, Wed 17 May 2006, 21:19, Reply)
Haha, thats really quite a good idea.

But what of the bands? Somebodys tape player and some £4.99 argos speakers?

(, Wed 17 May 2006, 22:14, Reply)
Not quite my idea on its' own

Crazyjude has most of the credit. As for the music, I can knock together a pretty good mobile sound system from a laptop and a decent pair of speakers.

(, Sun 4 Jun 2006, 21:37, Reply)
It's only an hour and a half away for me and t'missus

Go on then, I'll say probably definitely. I love camping!

EDIT: Gah! My wife's exam dates have come through... and this is the weekend before, so we're screwed. sorry :(

(, Mon 5 Jun 2006, 17:10, Reply)
all the yays

for you and t'missus

(, Mon 5 Jun 2006, 22:05, Reply)
I'm signing up for this

BUT I don't like walking, I like lazing about and drinking booze. I like walking and drinking booze too, though. But mainly lazing. I have a two-man tent that I'm willing to share with someone, but only if that someone is a woman with no morals. Or a drunk person. And it seems to be not that far from where I live, so I suppose I could drive down. Can I drive down? You pikey fucks won't break into my car, will you?

I'll drive down on the Friday, then. Sorted.

edit: I say, you're (mostly) /board types. You won't make fun of me, will you?

(, Tue 6 Jun 2006, 23:55, Reply)
pffffffffffffffffffft

i go to /talk events

Keep badgering. See you next Saturday...

(, Thu 8 Jun 2006, 12:40, Reply)

It's already been taken. I work in Howden, I could drive down on the friday night maybe...

(, Thu 8 Jun 2006, 13:46, Reply)

(, Thu 8 Jun 2006, 17:05, Reply)
i don't see why not

some of us must be musically bent as opposed to just bent

(, Thu 8 Jun 2006, 17:29, Reply)
I second the veggie marshmallow thing.

Is there such as thing as veggie marshmallows?

(, Thu 8 Jun 2006, 19:08, Reply)
Marshmallow fluff what you get in jars is vegetarian

We'll have a job getting that onto a skewer though.

*goes back to drawing board*

(, Mon 10 Jul 2006, 10:16, Reply)
bikes and such are recommended

as we want to enjoy the countryside and stuff too, so bit of biking and hiking etc is gonna happen fo shizzle.

(, Sat 15 Jul 2006, 13:45, Reply)
is this gonna be a piss-up,

or one of those northern bashes?

(, Mon 3 Jul 2006, 16:48, Reply)
I imagine there will be a certain element of north(midlands)ernness, seeing as the place is halfway between Sheffield and Manchester

I imagine there will also be a fair bit of the booxe consumed on the day.

(, Tue 4 Jul 2006, 2:23, Reply)
I can't come any more

My mummy won't let me. :(

(, Wed 19 Jul 2006, 8:55, Reply)
I'm afraid I've started a new job

and I can't get two weekends off in a row, since I've already got 4 days off the weekend after for a holiday.

Sorry doods

(, Sat 5 Aug 2006, 13:31, Reply)
Seems like there's a few casualties.

I should be there around 1:00pm. I predict the usual wtf does so-and-so look like kind of thing - so if anyone wants to call me when they get there you drop me a line at mark át behindthelines dót org and I'll mail you my mobi number.

(, Mon 14 Aug 2006, 8:37, Reply)
Well, I'm still coming to this

how much money will I need for the campsite etc?
Ta

(, Mon 14 Aug 2006, 13:04, Reply)
And another thing!

is anyone going in a car that I can lock things in? I'll be coming by train, but it'd be nice to have somewhere reasonably secure to lock my fiddle.

(, Tue 15 Aug 2006, 11:44, Reply)
SORREH!

well, lack of money and transport tramples on my fun once again! bums!

(, Tue 15 Aug 2006, 19:56, Reply)
Sorry folks

I'm dropping out; the weather is truly fucking atrocious and I really don't fancy drowning dying of hypothermia just jet.

(, Thu 17 Aug 2006, 16:24, Reply)
Given the awful weather and the fact there's only 3 of us left

is it worth carrying on with this? I don't want to sound like I'm just giving up, but there's not much left here is there?

(, Thu 17 Aug 2006, 16:38, Reply)
I am wondering if you are right

Personally I would like to carry on though. I may just go out there for a night... you guys do as you will, although I would prefer the company!

Actually could you contact me as soon as possible either on msn or landline 0114 2665897.

Cheers...
