Hell no.
I get bored and head for the kettle halfway through that sequence. Would be so much better at about a third of its duration.

It's just called "Heat"
But I'm with you; an excellent film all round.

The Who Framed Roger Rabbit would be quite a different movie

The Star Wars
Which IIRC Lucas was going to call it, until presumably Justin Timberlake told him to drop the "The" because it was "cleaner".

Without a doubt
The whole film is a masterpiece. One of my personal top 10. One of those rare films I seem to be able to watch multiple times and still find fascinatingly crafted.

Ronin
Got it when I first got surround-y sound-y. The car chase with the rocket launcher thing - brilliant

With "Aliens" you've basically got all the action films you ever need to watch.

De Niro and Pacino had a falling out on Godfather II. and refused to work with each other
The scenes of them talking in the cafe is in fact them talking to a stunt double in a wig filmed from behind, and when you do see them both in profile, no one in the background crosses the screen so they could composite the shots together.

I was hoping this wasn't, in fact, true
and can't find a source for this, so I'm calling shenanigans

When I joined up
They showed this (the firefight bit) in secondary training and said that if you do something like this then you'll be off to a good start.
Think it was choreographed by an ex Hereford chap.
Cheers for linkage and the trip down memory lane.

'Pepper potting'
It was old Andy McNab who was the consultant for the film, specifically this bit where they press and advance while firing covering each other - moving your pieces like pepperpots. Even Pacino checking for a round in the chamber before beaching was suggested by McNab.
AND the shooting direct thru the windscreen instead of the movie "lean out of the window" - was a tactic used in Northern Ireland during the Troubles in get aways by 14 Det.
I saw it in the cinema, the gunshot cracks are so loud and jarring with the echos, proper intense - they sound more realistic than most film gunshots. Such a good film, Moby's soundtrack too.
1 of my all time favourites.
