I upgraded my old Win7 laptop to Win10 back when they were offering it for free. I absolutely hated the UI and found the privacy invasion troubling to say the least.
Two years on and I absolutely wouldn't go back. It's a better experience in almost every way.

Although that might be more the fault of those lazy cunts at Adobe who now have no competition and therefore no incentive to write fast and efficient applications. It's far easier to just write new bloat and use the word "cloud" every five seconds.

from my perspective, ms haven't done their customers any real favours since xp and each iteration since has just been harder to deploy and maintain.

Just enable the root account and set a password for it. Yes, it's a glaring hole but it seems like one that's incredibly easy to close.
