This is a normal post I'm not angry with Greta Thunberg.
I actually feel a bit sorry for her. Christ knows what kind of toll all this exposure is putting on a 16 year old girl with Aspergers and a history of other psychological problems.
My issue is the way that she's clearly been groomed for this by her pushy parents and the way that the lefties in particular have been fetishising her as if she's some kind of prophet come to guide us into an age of ecological righteousness.
She's an absolute bastion for the type of thick cunts swallow up Corbyn's promises of enormous increases to Minimum Wage and abolition of Public Schools and Universal Credit. She speaks of how evil large corporations are for poisoning our planet, but doesn't really come up with any sort of solution to the problem other than 'stop doing it right now!'. She's a spokesperson for SJW's and Slacktivists of the planet who don't really understand how the world works. The type of people who slap themselves on the back for doing the recycling every week, cutting down on red meat and 'boycotting' products containing Palm Oil, yet gladly continue to reproduce and drive their 2.4 children the 500 yards to school in their Seven Seat SUV.

You can't blame Greta for all this, though. She's a child. You can only blame the cunts coercing her and the cunts hanging off every word she parrots as if she's a pigtailed second coming of Jesus.

Dominic Green wrote a great piece about the Cult of St. Greta in the Spectator the other day.

This is a normal post Greta Thunburg is 16 years old.
She isn't a vulnerable small child.

This is a normal post She's a 16 year old with Aspergers, Selective Mutism and a history of depression.
Who's been flung on to the word stage to go toe to toe with some of the most powerful people and corporations on the planet.
That makes her seem pretty vulnerable to me.

This is a normal post In a general sense, yes
That line of activism can be dangerous.
Deaths are reported to have doubled over the last 15 years.

Kind of all the more reason to respect her no?

This is a normal post Well, I certainly hope she doesn't become a martyr.

(, Sat 28 Sep 2019, 17:31, Reply)
This is a normal post I think there is something in the idea that she's in a vulnerable position.
It's just that most cunts making that point are also abusing her appearance and sharing clickbait articles attacking things other than her message at the same time. Call me cynical, but that makes me think they may not actually care about her well-being at all.

This is a normal post I read
a good point the other day.

A lot of the same people who claim Greta Thunberg at 16 is under the influence of adults and is not responsible for her own words are the same people who claim that Shamima Begum was acting under her own judgement when she ran away at 15 to be an Isis bride...

Can't have it both ways.

This is a normal post You can
Because they are two completely different people and situations
(, Sat 28 Sep 2019, 20:43, Reply)
This is a normal post Of course
the 15-year-old is completely cognizant of their situation, yet the 16-year-old is under the influence of adults and it does not depend on whether you agree with the conclusions they draw.

One is a terrorist and the other is a puppet of the environmentalists.

You are totally right.
(, Mon 30 Sep 2019, 0:20, Reply)
This is a normal post That isn't what I said
Two different people - think differently, different culturally, different situations, different levels of independence, different thought processes. You can't just compare based on the fact that they are almost the same age. Also, I am not suggesting that either was a puppet or had their own individual thoughts. I am just stating that the article you read comparing them is intrinsically flawed

This is a normal post I agree
It's the sycophants I can't stand more than the girl herself. But on the other hand: if you listen to this ( youtu.be/Q4mLKRCL2z8 ), you end up thinking that we need a socio-political catalyst of some kind and it may as well be her. Despite everything unlikable about the situation, it's probably very fucking good for the planet
(, Sat 28 Sep 2019, 17:11, Reply)
This is a normal post exactly
She's put the time in, she knows her shit, and she's not afraid to speak it.
I'm not suggesting the sycophants don't exist, just that you don't have to be a one to respect her achievements.

This is a normal post If it takes an alarmist message
to wake up the mass of consumers to the consequences of endless mindless consumption, I can live with that.
(, Sat 28 Sep 2019, 17:45, Reply)
This is a normal post
That all sounds more about you than Greta Thunberg. Corbyn and the minimum wage?

Thunberg is delivering a straightforward message with s lot of determination. You may not agree with her (which is fine) but all this "vulnerable kid with mental health issues, groomed by adult handlers for their own nefarious ends" stuff is just a way of avoiding engaging with the issues she's raising.
Fair play to her, she's managed to rile a load of complacent, patronising adults.
(, Sun 29 Sep 2019, 1:43, Reply)
This is a normal post I'm not interested in her raising issues. We all know what the issues facing our environment are.
I'd much rather hear her suggest potentially viable solutions. She's a complete novelty act. An 'out of the mouth of babes' routine. Really, though, she's said nothing new.

Has she come up with any plan of action besides "I want you to stop it because you're all being really, really selfish"?
(, Sun 29 Sep 2019, 10:09, Reply)
This is a normal post Why should she come up with a solution?
Just because I point out that a building is on fire doesn't mean i'm responsible for putting it out.
(, Sun 29 Sep 2019, 13:07, Reply)
This is a normal post There are already loads of other people shouting that the building is on fire.
It's not as if she's the first to raise the alarm.
(, Sun 29 Sep 2019, 13:15, Reply)
This is a normal post Yes.
But those who can do something about it are currently saying “No it’s not“ despite all evidence to the contrary.

Her contribution is simply to hold those people’s feet in the flames to get them to acknowledge that denial is not a viable solution.
(, Sun 29 Sep 2019, 16:02, Reply)
This is a normal post
None of them have got thousands of kids out on the streets or agitated complacent adults in the way that she has.
Are you really criticising a 16 year old because she's not articulating solutions to complex problems that satisfy your demanding standards?

You don't half go on.
Think she has been astonishingly clear that she wants to shift the focus from personal responsibility to government action, the opposite of what you're saying here. Unless you "don't believe in climate change" in which case why not just say so and move on?
(, Mon 30 Sep 2019, 18:59, Reply)
This is a normal post You know, I'm torn here.
On one hand I want to reason with you. On the other, this is clearly winding you up something rotten and it would be more true to the spirit of b3ta to flood the board with posts about her til you block me. Luckily for both of us, I can't be bothered.
