This is a normal post I laugh at alot alot of horror films, is there a scarier genre?
"terror films" for example, I don't want to be horrified, I want to be scared.

Edit: Obvious answers aside, I refuse to watch snuff, friends or sex in the city.

This is a normal post The two films that frightened me the most
are The Exorcist and The Wicker Man. Psychological/religious horror has always been more frightening to me than slash/gore flicks.

I've never had the same reaction to The Shining. I think that's probably because it was ruined for me by having it analysed in a Media Studies GCSE class.

Oh, and if anyone suggests the Nicholas Cage remake then I'm going to go all pcmechanic.

This is a normal post When I was wee I watched Carrie on TV, the scene where her mum is trying to kill her made me break out in a cold sweat.
Also the original of The Fog where they kill the priest disturbed me and the original Halloween, especially when you seem him during daylight stalking his sister.

John Carpenter was the shyzer.

Also, the original The Thing, which is a masterpiece.

Also, I concur, psychological horror is always more disturbing than gore.

Also Martyrs is very disturbing.

Also Haneke's Funny Games, the original.

Also, I'm not a horror fan but 30 Days of Night is fucking brilliant.

Also, when Sadako comes out of the screen in Ringu, great fuck breaking the 'fourth wall'.

What did you think of The Thing remake? I personally thought they made the film less "psychologically scary" and instead just "visually horrible". I guess maybe because they had the tech to actually show better aliens stuff? Who gives a shit.

...I was dumbfounded. I had never heard of it before and didn't know what to expect. Even when it started getting a bit weird it didn't prepare me for the end...

I still cringe thinking about it.
