Asking for a mate.

Is your mate alright? That sounds more like a cry for help than an actual request.

and not some sort of Frankenstein fantasy. Truss dresses like that because she's got something to hide; spaniel's ears that look like flat ziplock bags of blue stilton.

Tory voters really are a bunch of thick inadequate weirdos.

As stated before, approx. 30% of the population like to be told what to do.

I don't think she's a good candidate. But fucking hell, she's bound to be better than Sunak.
Rishi might have the better credentials, but he's always come across as that snivelling, ratty cunt that every classroom had who would drop everything to make sure the teacher knew that you were up to something you shouldn't be up to.
Truss by no means personifies charisma, but Sunak is a charismatic black hole. We're unlikely to be taken seriously on an international level either Truss at the helm, but we definitely won't with Rishi there.
Plus, she told Sturgeon to get fucked.
It's like choosing between drinking a pint of cat piss or a pint of tramp's piss. Neither is particularly appetising, but I'll take my chances with the tramp's piss if there's no option three.

Truss is the least credible political leader I think I've ever seen in the UK. She beats Russel Brand, Nick Griffin, George Galloway, Robert Kilroy-Silk, Jeremy Corbyn, Nigel Farage, Geoffrey Clements, everybody.
You can't believe a word she says, and neither can she.

It's not as though I get to vote for either. However, she seems mean minded and avoids scrutiny, he at least gives the appearance of understanding more about the technical details.
He's better looking and I'm saying that as a 100% straight man, definitely..

"Plus, she told Sturgeon to get fucked."
Can you explain a bit more about why this is a plus?

As a Unionist, I thought it was lovely.
( , Wed 31 Aug 2022, 10:21, Reply)

Especially when the governing party of that nation does not have a majority of votes or seats north of the border?
Just asking for a mate.

If you're really keen on maintaining the Union, why would you think Truss's response was a good thing?

However, I'm Scottish. I currently reside in Scotland and I want what's best for the country I live in. Independence is not it.
( , Wed 31 Aug 2022, 13:03, Reply)

There's a pro-independence majority in the Scottish parliament, that alone shows that there is a case for a referendum to be held. Whether or not Scotland 'should' secede is a separate matter entirely.
I'd be interested to hear any positive reasons for Scotland remaining in the UK, I can't think of any.

Maybe a blue/green saltire instead

Anyway. As I said, uninterested in getting into a pro/anti independence debate. You're not going to change my mind as a unionist. I'm not going to change your mind as a nationalist. It's irrelevant, anyway. There isn't going to be a second referendum any time in the near future. Not an official one, at least. Perhaps Sturgeon might piss away some of our tax money on a mock referendum in the hope of some kind of self-validation - assuming she 'wins', of course...

(national populism doesn't count).

And now we have Sue from St Cashingtons Girls, who is going to tell us why we should be recycling..."
that's what she generally reminds me of. She seems to have that enthusiasm that she's getting to be asked, coupled with that sort of rehearsed delivery and determination to smile, but when confronted with questions it becomes clear she's only got a superficial understanding of the issues and is actually a bit thick.

Labour will need to arrange a coalition, or a confidence & supply deal, depending on how close the election is though.
If only those awful Labour tossers hadn't prioritised ideological purity over electability there wouldn't be such a massive mountain to climb.
