ability to deliver a scripted gag rather than their track record that impresses me most about them

about his legitimacy to rule and does so in a fantastic manner showing he has a sense of humour, is articulate and able to laugh at himself which are all remarkable attributes whether or not this was scripted or otherwise. This bloke is all the win and I wish we had here as a leader.

Also, don't know why, but whenever I see Barack Obama I also see Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys.

Who is this chap? He's good. He ought to be given a political role or something.

Obama's staff have got a top class comedy writing team on the payroll now. You realise he never wrote these gags right? his ability to deliver them including scripted adlibs shows how well rehearsed they were. it's they're ability to do what they're told that makes them successful presidents

a top class writing team, but it doesn't blind me from his performance in office. He is one of the best PRs for the big business and war party, they've ever had. Certainly better than the last PR guy they had, Bush the chimp.

back over your eyes. we'll have none of that, thanks. turn your TV back on, and move away from the computer.

there's something to be said for delivery and timing, rehearse all you want, if you don't have a knack for telling the gags, they're just going to fall flat. Maybe he didn't write those jokes, maybe he was rehearsing one-liners while touring through the Alabama tornado devastation yesterday, but it takes more than just some good material and a little practice to make something like that work, you need a sense of humor, and I see one here.
Edit: Also, check out other presidents when they try this, it almost always looks forced and stiff.

maybe he should have released i aaaagggees ago, I mean if it isn't such a big deal like. The whole thing stinks if you ask me.
Don't like any of these guys at all. I remember Bush joking about 'no WMD here' Iraq in these fancy meal they have.
Not impressed.

I watched all of that, it actually captured my interest, a fucking politician's speech actually gripped me FFS! Belly laughs aside, it really does instill in me some hope that America has some real solid direction from a guy with a firm grip upon what really matters in the world and a good sense of his place within it.
And weirdly, he seems to get what, 'Taking the piss' is, which is usually way down the list for Merkins!
This might be the first time in living memory I feel they have the better leadership!
A part of me hopes he takes on the military, but another part of me hopes he doesn't, as I suspect he'll go the same way as Kennedy if he does, but America really needs to get sorted out in that dept the most if it's to convince the rest of the world that they're not the devil they need to smite, but for the first time in ages I feel like they might've got the fantasy president they always like to portray to the world in their media!
Best of luck to him!

I'm a Brit living in the US and sadly, people here unbelievably still see him as a johnny foreigner figure because he's black. I see him as a very articulate determined and capable individual that's pulling the U.S. up from it's bootstraps.
He's spent the last 4 years fixing Bush's fuck ups. Fingers crossed we re-elect him for another 4 years and we'll see some progress.
