This is a question Crap Gadgets

We wanted a monkey butler and bought one off eBay. Imagine our surprise when we found it was just an ordinary monkey with rabies. Worse: It had no butler training at all. Tell us about your duff technology purchases.

Thanks to Moonbadger for the suggestion

There's a difference between "gadget" and "something"
The clue is in the words.

"Gadget" is a sufficiently vague term,
that they might as well have used "something", for all the direction it will give the replies.

gadget [ˈgædʒɪt]
n
1. a small mechanical device or appliance
2. any object that is interesting for its ingenuity or novelty rather than for its practical use

certainly not a condom ;)

No
But they did include Bras as gadgets on that Stephen Fry thing a few weeks ago for some reason.

Edit: thinking about it, for the type of people that watch a whole three hour show about gadgets, a bra probably is a novelty.

the pocket lighter
was the number one gadget FFS

Edit I did watch it and bras are not a novelty and Mrs Ducks bras are definatly engineering masterpieces because she has woppinng great norks ;)

Was it?
I only saw about 10 minutes of it before I started weeping for the memory of what Stephen Fry used to be.

Although he did redeem himself with that awesome programme about language on Sunday night.

Re: The wife's norks, is the the point where I should be saying POIDH?

(I've just had a nasty flashback to that freak who did post pictures of his partners chest in a disabled toilet)

it was a shocking load of old bollocks
but I was numb with red wine so it sort of washed over me

The language thing was made of win including clips from "a bit.."

Ah the 'post operative transexual in a disabled toilet' to quote Janet A from /talk. No I will not be posting any pictures of my lovely ladies norkage for your gratification
