Sorry to spoil the spirit
But things are not going as well as planned.

After at least 25 years of shouting and arguing, finally, 2 weeks before my wedding, my parents have decided to break up. Can you believe that? It gets better. For the first 2 days, they decided it was a family problem and I had to sit through their shouting and tell who I thought was right, until I got fed up and told them to solve their problems like adults.

Now they are all "sorry for doing this right now" and all that stuff, but I know them, and I can´t believe they couldn´t wait 2 more weeks to explode.

Of course, they say they´re going to wait until after the wedding to make it official. And of course, I know they´ll never make it official, as I´ve seen this many times.

Now they´re behaving as if they´d never been more in love, doing everything together and talking sweet to each other. But when I´m on my own with one of them, the tears and complaints start again.

So, a question... well... tell me about people having a really bad timing. What did they do and why did it annoy you so much?

Alt Q.: Was Doctor Who Christmas Special any good? No spoilers! I´ll watch it tonight!

Mate, that's rubbish.
You should send them to bed without any dinner and tell them they're grounded for a month without pocket money.

I know
If they don´t behave, I´m going to tell them that I´ll seat each of them in a corner of the room at the wedding and that if they talk to each other I´ll get them out of the place! You´ll see when they start drinking how much fun it´s going to be.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 11:00, Reply)
Sorry to hear that :(
My timing was perfect, I finally walked away on Christmas eve instead of having a rubbish Christmas day feeling trapped and used, which would have only caused a big argument.

Good for you!
I hope you had a great day dispate everything and you don´t have any more bad luck. Next year you should find a lot of nice people in your way!

Nononono, you're not looking at this properly.
Two sets of parents: Two sets of presents. You might even in time have a new step ma/pa, they'd totally want to get in real ma/pa's good books and impress them. You will _never_ have to clean your room again, "Oh, I was going to take those plates down, when I'm not feeling so sad. I don't know why I get so sad these days, I used to be happy. Maybe a puppy would help?".... c'mon, work it properly. You can get up to all sorts of shit at school. You can steal all the warhammers and take the DVDs out the cases at the DVD shop, start smoking, bringing home random boys/girls/me, and when they catch you, you can yell "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, I DONT EVEN KNOW YOU ANY MORE". When they say "You know, I'll always love you", just sigh, and if you can, get a single tear to roll down you cheek and sigh saying "I know".

Play this one right and you might be able to get a new playstation !

Sorry, that really seriously sucks the big time, I'm just making lite of it in the hope to make you smile =)
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 12:47, Reply)
Hahaha!
You did manage to make me smile. I´m just trying not to give too much importance to all this, as I know what´s going to happen. And even if they divorce, I think they should have done it ages ago, so it´s not a big deal.

But yes, you´re right, I should make sure they get divorce and new partners in these 2 weeks and hope for 2 sets of presents for the Magic Kings!

I cooked the dinner etc
and halfway through eating it I was sick :( (not in the room obviously.) No-one else was ill so I didn't just poison people with my marmalade or something, I just appear to have a bug of some sort and feel rotten.

I really hope your parents sort themselves out before the wedding and don't ruin it. You really don't need the additional stress!

Alt Q: I haven't seen it. Tor's stopped working on my laptop so I can't get bbciplayer
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 13:33, Reply)
What is Tor?
I can't use BBC iPlayer either being in holland.
I'm sorry you're sick lovely - I was going to call you - my cousin took me shopping and I saw that brand you like, I wanted to ask you if you wanted anything.

Also Abberracion, I'm sorry that your parents are acting like 15 year olds. Tell them how unhappy it's making you?
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 13:42, Reply)
Don´t know what Tor is either
Where are you in Holland? I love the place (but Amsterdam is too crazy for me)
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:10, Reply)
I'm in Amsterdam :P
I'm really enjoying it. My cousins are jewish so christmas hasn't been very big this year for me. But it was white! which was hugely exciting.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:13, Reply)
Oh, well
I prefer other bits (if you can, go visit Leiden)

We had our 25degC Christmas over here, and I was more than happy about that! Drinking on the street, wearing skirt and short sleeves! I hate the cold and the snow so much.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:15, Reply)

Glad you're enjoying yourself. When are you back in the UK?

Sorry you're ill, love
And Merry Christmas again for yesterday.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 15:21, Reply)
Sorry you´re sick
and even more after you probably spent hours cooking. That sucks. Are you feeling a bit better now?
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:08, Reply)
I am thanks
give your parents a quick smack to sort them out.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:45, Reply)
Being sick sucks at christmas
Hope you're back to normal soon!
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:50, Reply)
Bad timing
I had a big snowkiting crash on Christmas eve so after retrieving myself from the bottom of an enormous ditch and my kite from a tree, I've spent most of the last two days lying down while taking painkillers and not moving around much.

On the plus side, it hasn't affected my eating abilities.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:30, Reply)
That sucks Aberr.
No idea if Doctor Who was any good.

I hope you folks sort themselves out.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:44, Reply)
Yes this Boxing Day has been quite pants so far.

(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 14:46, Reply)
1-3 you mean?

(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 15:02, Reply)
Aye.
Normally I don't really care when we lose but today was awful, it was the manner of the defeat. I like Hughes but questions need to be asked now.

On the plus side, I just got an iPod.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 15:12, Reply)
did you nick it?

(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 15:12, Reply)
Surprisingly no.
My mum got an iPhone in town today so she's given me her old (pink) iPod, I am rather pleased. Except for the pink bit.

I imagine that this is you and your family, Barry.

Doctor Who was good yeah
not ace, Michael Gambon was brilliant but Katherine Jenkins??? why? Sorry about your folks, what a pair of shitehawks! on christmas and before your wedding. Kick them in the respective genitalia and take their presents back.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 15:08, Reply)
I'm really sorry to hear that :(
Hope you're doing ok and Mark is being nice to you.

I enjoyed Dr Who, though I did have to hide my tears. I cry ever so easily :( But I'm feeling very stressed so am writing an essay plan on the importance of authorship.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 15:23, Reply)
Sorry to hear that.
I am drunk at the pub with the regulars. Soon I will go home, get into my new dinosaur PJs and watch Doctor Who. Love boxing day.

My team have just lost 4-1
I'm going to have a bath, then I'm gonna get drunk and watch Max Splodge and Bad Manners.

Anyway, I'm going out.

Have a nice evening doing whatever it is Blousie does on a Boxing day night.
(, Sun 26 Dec 2010, 18:22, Reply)
Oh aber, i'm sorry to hear that, how awful
Your family sounds even more dysfunctional than mine. I'm not generally one for confrontation but I really think your parents could benefit from having angry words with them about how shit they've been. Ok, so their lives don't revolve around yours and they're entitled to their own problems, but to drop this on you two weeks before your wedding simply isn't fair. I hope you sort it out. At least it's not long until your south american adventure!
