you're like a machine

(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 19:42, Reply)
yeah
a flabby machine designed for loafing and smoking

I went to the gym today and struggled.
I wish I knew why my stamina is so unreliable.
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 19:43, Reply)
yeah, it was hard work for me today, too
(not you going, mind, you going to the gym wasn't hard for me at all), but I did not do as much or as fast as I usually do

Depends what you've eaten in the hours beforehand, I always find
sometimes I can belt round my run-route no problems, other times it's killing me and I'm not even halfway round.

The other week I had a bar of chocolate at about 2pm and when I went to the gym I was great.
Eating chocolate though defeats the object of going to the gym in the first place.

The only reason I do any exercise at all
is so that I can eat what the hell I like. But yeah, if you're trying to lose weight, eating chocolate before you exercise is a tiny bit counterproductive.

Not that I think you need to lose weight at all!

I started more exercise out of fear
I saw my (size 26) mum out of breath after a very short, very slow walk. I spent the pennies she gave me for shoes on some trainers.

She doesn't have the metabolism issues I do either, so I thought I best do something

fanku hon but I do need to shift some more.
And be healthy and stuff.
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 20:10, Reply)
fuck me
I couldn't do 60 lengths of the pool if I had a fucking canoe.
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 19:50, Reply)
yes you could
just do it very slowly!
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 19:53, Reply)
it's not a full size pool
private one. it equates to somewhere between 35 and 40 lengths of a standard pool I think
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 19:54, Reply)
I can manage about eight to ten lengths of a normal sized council-issue pool
I'm not a great swimmer. i only learned when I was about 15, and I have a pathalogical fear of getting water on my face, which doesn't help.
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 19:55, Reply)
that wouldn't help
it's about the only cardio type exercise that I don't find tremendously boring, also it helps for surfing which is a bonus
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 20:00, Reply)
woo, I feel big and clever
I once did 100 lengths in an olympic size pool. Made about £60 for some charity

I didn't mean woo you don't like swimming, btw, more woo you learnt to swim despite being scared.
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 20:02, Reply)
that's good going

(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 20:06, Reply)
only took me an hour and a half
I actually sped up on the last KM!
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 20:07, Reply)
when my granddaughter was about eight or nine
she swam two kilometers or something horrific and got a badge or whatever.

*prouds*

EDIT: but woo to you also. That's quite some fucking accomplishment.
(, Tue 15 Mar 2011, 20:08, Reply)
