As someone who some time ago found himself unable to function in the workplace without hourly injections of black coffee, the occasional hot water or green tea (with lemon please) is perfectly acceptable. Especially if you're trying to lose weight and are drinking hot liquids to fool your stomach into feeling full. It works! Sometimes
