I don't understand how anyone can watch glee.
or BG. It's a bit like stargate universe, no? I only watched the first episode of that.

Stargate universe is really growing on me actually.
Proper good now.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 15:50, Reply)
it's growing on you?
like "oh this show is totally shit, but maybe if I waste a few more nights watching it then it might get better"?
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 15:55, Reply)
More like, god that character is annoying
but he's only in it for about 15 mins but then he gets less annoying and you think "this isn't the best show ever" but you still want to watch the next episode.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:01, Reply)
Pity it's been cancelled then.

(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 15:55, Reply)
Yeah all the best shows are.

is this the part where we're all supposed to weep over firefly?

(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:02, Reply)
Ref: Firefly, Caprica (FUCKS SAKES), others I can't be bothered to think of
Stupid American TV Execs
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:02, Reply)
i think you'll find it's because the shows were shit and no one watched them

(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:05, Reply)
I would agree to some extent
Firefly was never actually that good
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:07, Reply)
Yes it was
It was awesome
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:11, Reply)
It really wasn't
if it hadn't been cancelled, just left to limp out it's second season no-one would remember it.

Don't get me wrong, it was mildly enjoyable. But it wasn't groundbreaking, most of the characters were cliche stereotypes. I liked Simon and River, but most of the others just needed a kick up the arse.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:13, Reply)
It wasn't meant to be groundbreaking
The "sci-fi western" template was established by a little film called Star Wars and the Mal Reynolds/Han Solo comparisons are easy to see. What it did have was excellent dialogue, (mostly) great acting and a very intriguing setup. It was effortlessly entertaining from beginning to end.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:21, Reply)
The acting was mediocre
precisely because of the stereotypes. The dialogue was clever in some bits, but certainly not all the time. It wasn't futuristic enough either. Fair enough it didn't have to be groundbreaking and awesome, but it could've been a bit more original than it was.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:28, Reply)
shows that aren't sci fi that have been cancelled and I like:
Sophie
Dead Like Me

BSG is fucking awesome, by refusing to watch it you're missing out on one of the greatest shows ever made
purely because your attitude to the genre it's in. Which is beyond stupid.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 15:54, Reply)
Plus it's excellent to watch while stoned.

(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 15:57, Reply)
why, I never...
it's fucking shit
maybe I'm just not into shows where people are lost, which seems to be a reoccurring theme in everyones choice of television on here
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:00, Reply)
Yeah looks great and in no way camp

(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 15:59, Reply)
Come on!
It has Face in it!
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:02, Reply)
I don't mind science fiction.

(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:00, Reply)
Watch it from the Miniseries in order.
In a couple of months you'll be saying frak.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:02, Reply)
Chompy is right
I don't say that lightly. But he is absolutely on the money here.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:03, Reply)
Blimey!
I may print this post out
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:07, Reply)
nothing in the known universe
could make me say frak, and I watched two series of BSG trying to get into it.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:08, Reply)
No I won't.
And no I won't.
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:18, Reply)
I'm going to regret asking this
But why not?
(, Wed 30 Mar 2011, 16:25, Reply)
I simply haven't the time.
