It was supposed to be
run a half marathon by the time I'm 25. I'm 26 in July; ain't gonna happen. However, by October-ish I'll probably be capable of it.

By the time I'm 30 I'd like to have spent at least 3 months travelling the world.

I've decided to take 6 months travelling when my dad sells his business.

Can I have one too please?
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:06, Reply)
Sorry! I'll be travelling light.

A squirrel?

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:08, Reply)
We have squirrels here.

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:09, Reply)
Get one that can play the flute.

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:11, Reply)
I want a foreign squirrel
Maybe French
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:13, Reply)
I'm not going to France.
Ever!
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:17, Reply)
Why not?
They have the best cheese.

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:19, Reply)
It's full of French people.
Actually I met a really nice French girl through Aber's group. She's lovely and smiley and lots of fun......but she's the only one.

My stepdad retires in May
chances of me getting 6 months travelling money out of him are...well. Slim, shall we say.
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:07, Reply)
I'll be using my redundancy money.

Buy a one way ticket to Moscow and then walk back

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:05, Reply)
Practical and combines both

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:05, Reply)
You should do the Nottingham one with me and Darth in September

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:07, Reply)
It's a possibility
that or the Birmingham one, if I'm still here in October.
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:13, Reply)
Trouble with running in October
is it's likely to be raining. Especially in Brum.
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:15, Reply)
Having run a 10k last year in June
which was like running through hot cotton wool, I can safely say I'd much rather run in the rain.
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:21, Reply)
Yes, but September is going to be a lot cooler than June.
Probably.

I just want to get more people involved so I don't have to make awkward small talk with Darth.

If I can manage 7 miles without dying by my birthday
I'll sign up. But not if there are a lot of hills, I don't like hills...
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:25, Reply)
When's your birthday?

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:26, Reply)
July.

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:29, Reply)
You could come and do the London 10K run.
I'm considering signing up. Blue Green Olga and DiT may also be doing it.
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:32, Reply)
When is it?

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:33, Reply)
July 10th

(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:33, Reply)
Maybe
but I'll have been down the week before for Swipe's bash/Pulp, I'm not sure my finances will stretch to two trips in one month.
Also, I really fucking hate running in hot weather.
(, Thu 7 Apr 2011, 14:34, Reply)
Why not just go for a 6.6 mile run
then run back again then you can at least say you've done it.
