I do it all the time
Bella texted me some good news yesterday and that set me off grinning like a loon. A friend of mine from work is moving in with her boyfriend and is so happy about it that it's infectious. Ms Foxtrot is loving being a dance teacher which is having the same effect on me. I'm just a big fluffy ball of happiness and fun. Do your worst.

Alt: Lentil salad. Ravenous.

None within smelling distance

Did Bella get tickets for Roll Deep?
Lentil salad? More like bentil salad.

I can't be arsed with scoring
First pun; awful, second; officelol.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:15, Reply)
Can you lend me a hundred quid for some new running shoes?
I think mine are worn out as I'm getting shin splints.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:16, Reply)
What you do, right
is go to Pilch, who will watch you walk and run to diagnose what type of shoes you need to compensate for any over-pronation. They will then tell you how much these shoes cost. The colour will drain from your face and they'll say something like "can you put a price on the health of your knees?".

Then you go home and find a cheaper pair online.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:17, Reply)
This
'Up and Running' will do the same thing.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:20, Reply)
I just bought some Nike running shoes
I must be doing it wrong
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:21, Reply)
Probably, Nike running shoes are shit.
At least they are for me, they are too narrow and white people don't like them as much as New Balance:

(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:23, Reply)
I'm not a proper runner so I used to buy Asics and now I have New balance but I just buy whatever is on sale.

(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:30, Reply)
Asics are good!

(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:46, Reply)
Ass sex?
As in bottoms or mules?
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:48, Reply)
Mule's bottoms

I have a pair of New Balance
:'(
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:31, Reply)
Me too. They are very comfortable.

(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:32, Reply)
We are so white
How far are you running at the moment?
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:36, Reply)
I've done two lots of 2.7 miles, the last one took 25 minutes.
But I think I really need new shoes before I try and run any further or I'm going to end up knackering my shins.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:39, Reply)
Are you still running on the treadmill?
I actually find it easier to run outdoors. Keep it up though mate
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:43, Reply)
I like to see the numbers tick by, motivates me
Tip for treadmill running, always set it to 1 degree of elavation to better recreate proper outdoor running
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:46, Reply)
A combination
when I'm at home or work I run outdoors, when I'm down at my parents I use their treadmill, just because it's there. Plus I can then have a good go on my punchbag afterwards.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:48, Reply)
Punchbags are fucking awesome
Who do you picture when you're hitting it? I usually think of Chompy.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:49, Reply)
I pretend it's a big black leather bag with a red stripe around the top.
This helps me suppress the revulsion I sometimes get when I realise I'm actually battering the corpse of a prostitute.

POTD
*breaks mouse clicking like a good'un*
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:55, Reply)
Asics are really good and well priced
Particularly if you over-pronate
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:45, Reply)
This is al we're talking about
Of course he over-pr0nates.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:49, Reply)
Very good!

(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:56, Reply)
I'm still wearing Vibram Fivefingers
I might get another pair for outdoor running.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:48, Reply)
Totally sounds like a monstrous fist-shaped rubber toy

(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:55, Reply)
I suspect that would not help with the outdoor running
unless Darth was chasing me with it.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 10:06, Reply)
Yeah, technically I did it wrong as well
I went to sports soccer and tried on all the ones I could afford. Then I bought the most comfortable pair.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:26, Reply)
I know, I went to Run and Become in Victoria and they did exactly the same thing
trouble is, I have stupid wide feet and finding 4E width shoes is quite difficult.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:22, Reply)
'Run and Become'?
That takes the prize for most pretentious shop name I have ever heard.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:29, Reply)
You really would expect the shop which takes that title to be in Camden Market

(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:35, Reply)
New Balance running shoes come in different width sizes.

(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:36, Reply)
Do they do an orthopedic version?
*tap CLUMP tap CLUMP tap CLUMP*
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:37, Reply)
I know
that's why I own a pair
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:38, Reply)
As will the London Marathon shop
and Runners Needs. I have had the "colour drain face" moment very recently as I have flat feet.

I bought the same pair online for about half the price they were asking. Try and look inside the tongue for either the model number or name.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:22, Reply)
I don't think I'm strong willed enough to go into a shoe shop
try on shoes, find a pair that are right for me and then say "actually I'll have to think about it".
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:28, Reply)
I have exactly this problem
Luckily Ms Foxtrot was with me when we got ours
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:28, Reply)
But, but, but, I like to support shops that give me good advice.
If everyone bought off the internet then there would be nobody to tell me which shoes to buy on the internet.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:32, Reply)
That's actually quite a good argument
I'm regurgitating that one next time someone calls me a fanny for wanting to buy stuff instore rather than shopping around
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:33, Reply)
Good !
You're lucky! Plenty of good things going around you, eh? Maybe you give good luck. Can I touch your back? (Your back like in between your shoulders, no down there)
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:19, Reply)
Yes you can
and I promise to be a gentleman and not request to touch you in return
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:20, Reply)
Well, thank you
That should make my year lucky. When can we meet?
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:25, Reply)
Well that's an excellent question
Fancy running a half marathon in September with me and Al?
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:29, Reply)
I don't think I can
Hips problems, so I can't run, but I can cycle, if it's allowed. And September is too far away. And I thought you needed to register with plenty of time. Have you done yours?
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:32, Reply)
That sounds far too much like organisation
I'm pretty sure that if either Al or I tried to run 13 miles right now we'd actually die. We need to be sure it won't be a highly embarassing waste of time before we sign up!
