Hello, loves!
How are you? I'm very happy today. It's a Friday for me (no work tomorrow!!) and one of my best friends has been told she might have a chance to get pregnant, after 3 years of trying, and she is so happy for it!!

When was the last time someone around you was so happy that you couldn't stop yourself and feel happy too? Did you spend the day smiling at nothing?

Alt. Q: Breakfast (let's start properly today). I had cereals and a ham sandwich. I might have a banana soon as well.

Hola Abe
I'm looking forward to a weekend that can't come soon enough. It is being a really bad week at work, with lots of petty things adding up to a great big pile of shite.

So, what is this chance of getting pregnant, that your friend has? Is it IVF or has she found a boyfriend?

Alt Q I had a cheese and coleslaw sandwitch from Tesco on the way into work. It was dull and lifeless.

Hola!
Are you planing anything interesting for the weekend, to forget the pain of the week? I'm going to Sheffield for a weekend long birthday which consists in pub crawls all day long. Only GBG pubs too.

IVF. After a lot of treatment they found her 3 eggs (which are not many, tbh) and they'll extract them on Friday. They have to survive the extraction, get the sperm in, survive being put in the uterus, attach to it and stay there for 9 months, so it's quite a long shot, but 4 months ago she thought she couldn't have eggs at all, so she's really pleased.

I like coleslaw, but I can't eat it, as it repeats all day, and I can feel it in my mouth, and think that everyone can smell it too. Arj

This weekend we have some friends visiting from Wales.
We are going to Brownsea Island to see the squirrels (red ones not grey vermin). I hope the weather is fine. I'm sure I'll feel better after a couple of days off. Have you been to Sheffield before, it was dull and dreary when I was there last. about 20 years ago?

I hope your chum has luck with the IVF, one of my sisters tried three cycles, all with no luck.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 8:16, Reply)
Brownsea Island
sounds cool. I've never been there. Never been in Sheffield either, but people has told me it's not too bad. In any case, I know Mark's friends, and the only thing that matters is that they can find real ale in plenty of pubs. It seems there is a beer fest and a CAMRA convention, so I know they'll be fine, and we'll all get happy.

I've told my friend not to worry, and that if necessary I can donate some of my eggs. She seemed pretty please, although we don't know how it works, if I can just give them to her or if they go to a bank and she has to ask for them... will find out if we have to, but I hope we don't need to.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 8:26, Reply)
Beer festivals are awesome.
we have a Real Ale round here called Village Bike. it makes me smile.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 8:41, Reply)
Hahaha
Good name for a beer fest. I love them too, but I can't drink as much as the boys, so always end up with cups of tea and water.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 8:42, Reply)
Drink slower then.
Or maybe only halves.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 8:45, Reply)
Yep,
But halves are for girls...

I go slower, but when we do 1pub/h I have to drink at the same pace or skip some pubs and go for tea.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 8:54, Reply)
What a dilemma.
Can't you pour half of yours into Mark's glass so it looks like you are one of the cool drinkers?
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 8:59, Reply)
Hahaha
That's what I usually do. Get mine and drink slowly, and when they're finished (I've usually drunk only half by then) share mine with everybody. They seem happy with the arrangement.

Oh, well
Are you all still sleeping or not feeling like talking happy at this time of the morning?

I thought you had managed to sleep more than normal. I have a lot of trouble to sleep recently. And I have a lot of dreams, which sometimes are very cool. Yesterday I slept a, what I think, would be a great chapter for Doctor Who. The Doctor was there (he was Mark...) and I was Amy Pond. And I managed to finish it :)

That's 2 minutes more than I have
I get up with 10min. Toilet, wash face, clothes on, and go. Usually I have breakfast on the train (cereals and yogurt) and brush my teeth at the office.

How the fuck do you manage to eat cereal on the train?

There is no way I could manage that on my Metro to work
About 20 people would be covered in it!

No, not on the metro
on the train. I get an early one to avoid rush hour, so need to leave home at around 6am. Because of that, there're plenty of spaces and I can have breakfast there. Usually the seats around me are the last ones to be taken, for some reason.

I've been skipping breakfast for about a month now
in favour of a home made smoothie. No smoothie ingredients + run last night = ravenously hungry. Broke out the emergency work Shreddies and we now have a delivery of muffins to nom

I was listening on the way in to work to favourite Oirish emo rockers Therapy? this morning. haha to emo lyrics! Can anyone beat this beauty?

I did my first run of the year last night.
I had to leave my car outside the garage when I picked up Mrs Cows. Decided to run up last night on a scenic route to go and get it. I dont get the chance to run on a morning so did about 4.5 miles last night.

What you do, right
is go to Pilch, who will watch you walk and run to diagnose what type of shoes you need to compensate for any over-pronation. They will then tell you how much these shoes cost. The colour will drain from your face and they'll say something like "can you put a price on the health of your knees?".

Then you go home and find a cheaper pair online.

I actually find it easier to run outdoors. Keep it up though mate

Tip for treadmill running, always set it to 1 degree of elavation to better recreate proper outdoor running
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:46, Reply)
A combination
when I'm at home or work I run outdoors, when I'm down at my parents I use their treadmill, just because it's there. Plus I can then have a good go on my punchbag afterwards.

As will the London Marathon shop
and Runners Needs. I have had the "colour drain face" moment very recently as I have flat feet.

I bought the same pair online for about half the price they were asking. Try and look inside the tongue for either the model number or name.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:22, Reply)
I don't think I'm strong willed enough to go into a shoe shop
try on shoes, find a pair that are right for me and then say "actually I'll have to think about it".

I have exactly this problem
Luckily Ms Foxtrot was with me when we got ours

If everyone bought off the internet then there would be nobody to tell me which shoes to buy on the internet.

I can't drink without some food going on with it. Maybe it's a Spanish thing.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:21, Reply)
No, its a beer thing
I crave cheese and spicy things when drinking
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:22, Reply)
I do with wine too
and with spirits.

With wine you have some ham and good cheese. With spirits, something sweet, like chocolates. And with beer, salty stuff.

Lets play spot the Spaniard, or Catalan I've forgotten where you're from
I love a decent tapas bar where you collect the cocktail sticks and pay at the end, very civilised

We've talked about this before in here
Catalans are Spanish.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 10:03, Reply)
have we?
I'm pretty sure the catalan i know, considers himslef realtively seperate...or is it the same as Socts being British?
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 10:06, Reply)
Yep, something like that
with the difference that the catalans that talk like that have no idea of history.

Each of the provinces that are now Catalonia joined Spain because they wanted (to get protection from the muslims) before Catalonia existed. That's something that came later, when we divided the country in comunities, but they were just four pieces of land that joined Aragon at different times. They were never a country in itself.

I had two chocolate digestives
what? They're made of wholewheat and stuff. And chocolate comes from beans and is therefore healthy. I'll have a yoghurt when I get in to work, if I get in to work...cos right now I truly, utterly cannot be fucked to move.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:19, Reply)
Don't you have to get there at a certain time?
2 chocolate digestives don't seem too much to me. Do you drink some milk with them?
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:22, Reply)
I am supposed to be there 9-5
however I do a ridiculous amount of unpaid overtime so I rock up whenever the hell I please, as long as I don't take the piss they don't care.
I did not drink any milk with them, but I will be having a yoghurt in a bit. They were my pre-breakfast snack.
(, Thu 14 Apr 2011, 9:24, Reply)
Unpaid overtime, eh?
I don't like those two words together. Sorry for you.

I love the orange chocolate digestives. So much that I can't buy a packet because I eat them all in one go.
