Same Old Boring- Sunday Morning
Heart attack number 3 just reared its ugly head a week ago. Before you say anything, I don't smoke, drink in moderation, am not a fat huffer (I have lost 7 stone in the past 2 years), and exercise regularly. Oh, and I managed to conquer diabetes by diet alone.
SO- why the fuck does it keep happening?
Alt q: How awesome were the Foo Fighters on BBC3 last night?

fuuuuuuck
scary business, are they going to do any ferreting around inside you to fix it?

I ain't seen the Foo Fighter thing. I love them, but I couldn't miss Eurovision :)
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 10:57, Reply)
I have to watch Eurovision one day.

Stented up, and ready to roll.

hope this time fixes it

I think it may be
on the Red Button thing.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:08, Reply)
maybe it's because you used to be a fat huffer?
7 stone in 2 years suggests there was a spare 7 stone...
recorded the ff's last night, which i watched after i got home.
from seeing them live.
cracking (and very local) gig that were ;)

edit: that sounds much less sympathetic than intended!!!

Why are you saying that a heart attack is god's way of taking karama back for a lifetime of glutony?
Maybe he had the heart attack because the valves in his heart blocked up due a cardio defficancy? No, I think you're wrong, he didn't deserve it, nobody does, and I think you should feel bad for wishing a heart attack on him when clearly he is trying his best. God has _nothing_ to do with it, I don't think.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 11:53, Reply)
Gonz has it
Bang on the money. Got told it's nearly bypass tiEm.
And I don't think he was wishing another on me, just pointing out (which was true) that I was a fat huffer. Just thought that doing what you are told by government and GP, in all senses, would make a difference. May as well piss it up, couch potato it, and eat shite all day!

*Smiles and leans back with 3 croissants and a pint of Guinness (or two*

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:23, Reply)
It did make a differance, the heart attack came later rather than earlier, it could have been so much worst, you might be in a place where they can't do anything about it, such as between save points in Zelda or Resident Evil.
When dad had his heart attacks, he called it a wake-up-call, to start sorting it out. Well, that was the first time, the second time he didn't think much afterwards except I imagine "oh gosh darn it" for a few moments.

Yawn.
And once more for luck: Yawn.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 14:24, Reply)
even managing to bore yourself now?
that's quite the achievement
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 15:20, Reply)
Sunday brings ALL the one trick ponies out to play.
It must be the boredom?
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 17:24, Reply)
You're old and you're dying.
Wear womens knickers from now on to give the paramedics a cheap laugh at your expense. Try not to evacuate your bowels on them next time though.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 11:29, Reply)
Sounds like ischaemic cardiomyopathy complicated by haptic gallimaufry opprobrium syndrome.

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 11:55, Reply)

1) yes
2) Absolute bollocks- which is what it means anyway.

He's just showing off
because he's knobbing a medical student.

he wishes.
I'm only a biomed science student.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:28, Reply)
Not you. The medical student he's seeing.
I've said too much...
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:30, Reply)
it's okay, I know he needs help with his sinuses...

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:31, Reply)
This I know to be true...

the Foo Fighters have been releasing the same album for years
first two were great, the rest of all the same. Nice guys, good band, but they need to do some different songs.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 11:58, Reply)
I haven't listened since the first two and maybe that double album they brought out of rock/less rock stuff.
They just don't seem to have moved on. Alright V?
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:00, Reply)
alright Noel
they haven't moved on, which is a shame. What is also a shame is that the one song they used as a basis for all their more recent stuff wasn't one of the better ones in the first place.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:38, Reply)
I'd have said the same song myself

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:18, Reply)
Do they, though?
I mean, Meatloaf's been doing the same album for the last thirty years, and he hasn't lost any fans over it.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:22, Reply)
yeah, but Meatloaf has little talent
other than a reasonable voice, whereas Dave Grohl et al. are capable of writing interesting songs.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:36, Reply)
Meatloaf's best performance
was being murdered with an icepick by a transvestite in The Rocky Horror Picture Show
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:42, Reply)
I went to see Meatloaf a couple of years ago
it was a great night
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:57, Reply)
Say what you really think man, don't hold back or anything.

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:58, Reply)
I quite liked him having his head shot open in Fight Club
and when he explodes in 51st State
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 13:13, Reply)
I quite liked Dave Grohl's collaborative album.

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:24, Reply)
Them Crooked Vultures
A good step away from his (and Josh Hommes) normal- still enjoy that album.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:49, Reply)
I like it
but I'd disagree that it is a step away from Josh Homme's usual stuff
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 15:20, Reply)
^This
I still like their third album, but so much this. The same is also true of everything the Red Hot Chilli Peppers recorded after Californication.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:34, Reply)
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers really bore me to tears

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:37, Reply)
I think there's just something about modern American rock music
The Foo Fighters have the same problem - there's nothing particularly wrong with the music, it's not overtly shit, I just can't be bothered to listen to it.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:38, Reply)
I just look at stuff like Everlong and Hey Johnny Park from FF's second album
and think they were doing things right, and then they released several albums of the same boring song, more or less. and people lap it up.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:41, Reply)
Maybe it's something about American audiences as well - are they just happy to buy the same album over and over again
Hell, it's been working for Green Day since about '89. Look what happened when they tried to do something "different" - Warning was, I thought, a brave effort, but it absolutely bombed. Then they went back to the same old formula and - whaddya know? - success again...
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:44, Reply)
89?
Have Greenday really been going that long? I thought they were only about twelve!
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:58, Reply)
Blood Sugar Sex Magic is an outstanding album
and One Hot Minute is good, but they did go down hill somewhat.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:40, Reply)
I saw them at Reading in 2007, they were fucking diabolical.
I was really looking forward to it and they sucked shit. They had to restart two songs cos they fucked them up.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:50, Reply)
oh man really?

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:53, Reply)
Yup.

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:58, Reply)
so I should be glad I never managed to get tickets that one time they came to Melbourne..

(, Sun 15 May 2011, 12:59, Reply)
I saw them at a festival in Denmark and they were fucking superb
that was probably 2002 or thereabouts.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 13:13, Reply)
I have never understood the appeal
to a certain extent this could also be said of Radiohead.
(, Sun 15 May 2011, 13:14, Reply)
BOO!
