I did know that Monty. Fleming wanted him because Lee served in the SOE during the war.
Cubby Broccolli was teh man who wanted Connery. My favourite Bond, however, is Dalton.

Pierce Brosnan started off pretty good.
But rapidly turned shit I thought.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:01, Reply)
He got too old, too quickly.
Plus his franchise was after Brocolli died and it all went comic-book action.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:03, Reply)
He was up for the role at the same time as Dalton
That might have been a better time for him to start. But then we wouldn't have had Dalton and, whilst he's not my favourite Bond, I think he was very good in the role. Licence To Kill is one of my favourite Bond films.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:07, Reply)
He felt he was too young for it, he had a point I reckon.
I actually prefer The Living Daylights. Best Bond film in the series, so there.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:09, Reply)
I think OHMSS is the best Bond film in the series
It's just a shame they had the wrong person playing Bond
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:11, Reply)
It's in my top three.

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:13, Reply)
My mate's uncle!

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:14, Reply)
...has also seen that film.

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:14, Reply)
We have been through this before!
David Niven is my mate Steve's uncle
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:15, Reply)
It's a shame he wasn't the Bond in OHMSS
or that post would have made sense.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:16, Reply)
I'm tired
Casino Royale then
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:17, Reply)
You failed, cow.
You failed.

*leaves internet*

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:20, Reply)
Have you ever seen Death Dimension? It's fucking brilliant./
Lazenby, Jim Kelly (from Enter the Dragon) AND Howard 'Odd Job' Sakata. Only missing Yaphet Kotto for a 'full house'.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:15, Reply)
I dont think so, no

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:15, Reply)
I shall watch out for it

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:18, Reply)
Live and Let Die is the best Bond film.

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:14, Reply)
I quite like The Spy Who Loved Me
Mainly for the underwater Lotus and massive fight at the end
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:16, Reply)
Fact!
And I think Roger Moore was rubbish. Jane Seymour FTW
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:16, Reply)
Quite so.

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:17, Reply)
I think George Lazenby was a very good bond
I wish he had done more films
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:16, Reply)
Your opinion, if that is indeed your opinion, is incorrect.
It's the second best.

What's with all the Connery fanboyism, anyway? He's not the worst, Moore sails into that position, but he's definitely not the best.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:16, Reply)
*raises eyebrow*

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:17, Reply)
Connery is awesome purely for "Ah! Named after your father?"
when introduced to Plenty O'Toole.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:19, Reply)
Why? He was fucking terrible and don't give me any of that 'closest to Fleming's Bond' shit either.
All that space docking has driven you mad, man.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:06, Reply)
I think he's brilliant.
He's closest to my idea of Bond. Fuck knows what Fleming's idea was. Apparently he thought Bond should look like Sauron.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:07, Reply)
Actually, that Daniel Craig chap
is closest to Fleming's Bond.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:10, Reply)
Yeah, I think so too

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:11, Reply)
This is correct. He's supposed to be a bit of a cunt.

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:12, Reply)
That would have been awesome!
Sadly, I think you meant Saruman.

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:23, Reply)
Another actor that plays the same character in most of his films.
Weaving, Connery and Bean ought to start a club.

The "Actors Who Get By More Through Presence Than Skill".
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:26, Reply)
Bean is in the 'I die in everything' club

(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:27, Reply)
Bill Paxton should be in that

Dalton recently played the bad guy in one of my favourite series
He is fucking superb as a nasty bastard.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:14, Reply)
Yes!
Dalton, like Alec Baldwin, should have gone into comedic acting a long time ago.
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:22, Reply)
Chuck?
I keep missing that, but it's really good when I do get to see it
(, Fri 3 Jun 2011, 10:27, Reply)
Aye, it's absolutely superb
