I would imagine one's chances of encountering a 'Jim Bob' are magnified somewhat
by being in Virginia as opposed to over here. I would go so far as to say apart from some spastic from a shit band whose name I cannot even recall from the 80s, I've never heard of a UK Jim Bob.

Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine.

All too stoppable, as it turned out. Thank the Lord.

They were no 'Sultans of Ping FC*', that's for sure.
*perhaps the worst band of all time. I used to get stuck in the lifts at Tufnell Park tube station with their singer about three times a fucking week at one point. 'The Sultan', we called him. What a prick he was.

I'm going to play the Oasis card one more time
Although I have no anecdote with which to substantiate my point.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:15, Reply)
Unnecessary
It's Oasis.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:16, Reply)
Thank you, Le Keloid

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:20, Reply)
Ping were worse.
Their 'hit' was called 'Where's me jumper' and it's the most appalling display of Wakiness this side of The Toy Dolls' 'Nellie The Elephant' which is more belmtastic than a week spent flinging Hush Puppies into the English Channel with Joey, Ernie and Tom, Janet Ellis and Simon Groom.

Sod It, I'm feeling masochistic
I have that album, I used to quite like them, but then my taste in music does veer from the sublime to the ridiculous.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:23, Reply)
So it's you!
YOU'RE the person who bought their album. I always believed you to be a myth like the Sasquatch. Well I never.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:27, Reply)
Yes, it's me.
I also own a William Shatner album and no less than 2 by The Insane Clown Posse, probably other stuff too, but this is the worst that springs to mind.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:30, Reply)
How do Magnets work? They're a fucking miracle! Look at a Giraffe! That's a miracel right there!

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:33, Reply)
Yes, they are retards, are they not?
But I quite like some of their silly music when I'm in the right mood.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:35, Reply)
That Shatner LP is great.
That's the one with Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds on it, right?
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:34, Reply)

You two are such a cute couple
You need to argue over whose prefix is retained and whose discarded after the wedding.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:52, Reply)
Fuck off Foxtrot
I do not breed with the Welsh, even I have some standards.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:55, Reply)
I don't know who to tell to fuck off first

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:56, Reply)

tell to off
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 15:01, Reply)
Nope
Has Been, rather more recent and probably thus less credible.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:35, Reply)
Actually
(and this will not surprise you even a teensy bit) I also own that album, purchased for me by my darling bro.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:56, Reply)
Haven't heard it
However I refuse to believe that any band who weren't taking themselves seriously could actually be considered worse than Oasis, who, almost unbelievably, were.

That said I can't make a direct comparison for reasons stated above - and if this lot really were worse than Oasis, I have no intention of looking them up.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:24, Reply)
It's worth looking them up, just so you are then aware of how bad a band can be.
Without hearing 'Jumper', you are in blissful ignorance.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:28, Reply)
That's bloody awful
It's not even funny in a "comedy record" kind of way.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:29, Reply)
Now imagine being stuck in a lift with the insufferable wanker ALL THE TIME.
It wasn't just me, either - my chum who lived nearby also had the same problem repeatedly. We came to the conclusion that he hung around the tube station in the folorn hope that one day he would find his errant jumper there.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:32, Reply)
I haven't thought about that fucking song in years.
You bastard.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:29, Reply)
I think the reason why I shan't bother
is reasonably apparent in the phrase "blissful ignorance" and the popular phrase from which you have derived it.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:30, Reply)
Interestingly, having read their wiki page
They did a song Based on a Brian Clough quote about John Robertson, apparently this is to do with football and that team I think you like so you might care about this.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:29, Reply)
For one insane moment I thought this was a reply to me.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:33, Reply)
No, for all your faults I do not think you like football

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:33, Reply)
Bloody hell, well remembered, sir
Was the quote in question the famous "we don't argue, we have a discussion and then we agree that I was right"?
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:34, Reply)
Nope.

Hahaha
*Disclaimer - the above was written as soon as I identified the name of the song and remembered the quote.

As I type, I am undergoing increasingly severe mental trauma caused by the progression of a staggeringly inept song.

Fuck this, I've heard enough. Monty... you may have had a point.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:41, Reply)
They are a bit better on record that live, but only a bit
Yay! I have them on MP3, that's my afternoon listening sorted. Thanx Monters. Hugz!
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:43, Reply)
Go away you odious little turd.

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:48, Reply)
LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE
You've pushed him back into the arms of the Sultans of Ping! That's like giving a recovering alcoholic beer! Which I also think you'd do.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:49, Reply)
*sits at desk smiling quietly, humming along to Veronica and smiling happiley*
Cheer Monts, I'd quite forgotten how awesome these guys were. I'll have to see if they ever released another album and buy it.
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:50, Reply)
I knew a bloke who followed them around on tour
Accompanied by a groupie known only as 'Flangey Ange'
(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:08, Reply)

(, Fri 15 Jul 2011, 14:04, Reply)
