I love you for citing my favourite band in a post about victories at the weekend
Ms Foxtrot and I went to a competition in Leatherhead and won the Beginners' Ballroom section. We're chuffed as hell as we haven't won anything for over a year, and this means we can move up to Novice at our next comp :-)

Thank you sir
How's the family?
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:50, Reply)
Good although the wee one wouldn't sleep in her cot last night so slept in our bed
this is fine, but sets a dangerous precedent
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:52, Reply)
Liam had his first night in his bed last night
Converted it from the cotbed yesterday. Woop!
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:52, Reply)
And didn't fall out i trust?

(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:54, Reply)
three or four times
IT'S HOW THEY LEARN
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:55, Reply)
Nope, bed guard
Slightly disturbing PINK bed guard though

He's a Middlesbrough fan then?

(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:57, Reply)
Errr, no
It was Elizabeth's. Mrs Cow is going to cover it in something
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:57, Reply)
Very wise
Also; well done on training your daughter not to fall out of bed before the age of five. I was about 23 by the time I got there.
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:59, Reply)
I don't think
exposing boys to pink harms them in any way. It' just a stupid convention
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:02, Reply)
It was a boys colour as recently as Victorian times
being thought of as "light red".
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:04, Reply)
knights wore it
as red was such an expensive dye
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:06, Reply)
you're wrong
only the gays and the welsh wear pink
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:10, Reply)
As long as she's not still there when puberty hits you'll be fine
I say this drawing from my vast well of parenting knowledge
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:55, Reply)
It was actually partially inspired by that too!

Thanks for liking my FB post too mate :-)

If you're *moving up* to Novice
what were you before?

"In the wrong room"?
"Drunk and thinks they're funny"?
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:54, Reply)
The answer to your question is in my original post
The rankings go Beginners - Novice - Intermediate - Pre-Champ - Amateur. I know that sounds daft but once you win Amateur a few times, you can turn Professional.

Intermediate is the goal because at that level there's no restriction on syllabus so we can do whatever choreography we want.

Thriller?

(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:57, Reply)
Might work as part of a Paso Doble
I'll take it under advisement
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 9:58, Reply)
and wear sequins, wasn't it?
morning Darth
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:00, Reply)
Morning you
The dress rules are variable; the major competitions have restrictions below Intermediate, but the smaller local ones will let us do the full tailcoat/slashed-to-the-waist shirt/rhinestone-tastic dresses at Novice level.

This is very exciting for Ms Foxtrot but less so for me. Partly because tailsuits are fucking expensive, and partly because the sight of me in a slashed-to-the-waist shirt would be... unseemly.
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:06, Reply)
i, for one, cannot wait to see pics :)

(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:07, Reply)
Is that the oft-traded language of sarcasm I hear?

(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:09, Reply)
nonsense!
All women love men in slashed-to-the-waist-shirts. (I don't know what one is)
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:11, Reply)
Here's the gayest example I could find

*Don't
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:33, Reply)
like you expect me to read beyond a quick skim
but well done anyway. I predict that within a few years your cock will do that pre-champ thing.
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:03, Reply)
You disgust me
Thank you
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:07, Reply)
Do you have to dress as a potato and a scallion when you reach pre-champ?
Hey! Whaddaya want from me it's early.
(, Mon 8 Aug 2011, 10:10, Reply)
I want you to MAKE SENSE
