Reuters are reporting the Libyan rebels have entered the Gaddaffi compound.
Wooooo, Arab spring woooo.

I told you all.

Also Gaddaffi is alive apparently and in Tripoli
this according to a Russian former goat herder and chess grandmaster who played him at chess once.
I would love if that story is true and that was the person he chose to ring

These pictures of the rebels making home made weapons are mint

I love the geezer in picture eighteen casually sitting in an office chair whilst aiming his giant fuck off rifle into the sky.

They're all very McGuyver, I think RDA should go on a visit when it's safe.

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:22, Reply)
I can't possibly be the only one who assumes the above is a sexual euphemism

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:24, Reply)
Do you think about anything else?

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:27, Reply)
Yeah
Football
Dancing
Films

That's it
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:35, Reply)
I fucken love FILM.

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:36, Reply)
GOD ME TOO
I am so into it, right, that I refer to Robert de Niro as ‘de Niro’. I bet you are nowhere near as into 'cinema' as I am.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:38, Reply)
HOW DARE YOU!
Actually, you are probably right. You well loves FILM.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:41, Reply)
I'm really into 'world cinema'.
Ideally I like challenging 'film' about people trafficking.

A "human" centipede

Subtitles?
Idéalement J'aime défi "film" sur la traite des personnes.

The thing about not having read a newspaper
or watched TV in weeks (other than torchwood) means I'm not entirely sure of this plotline. The goodies are winning, right? Sweet.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:42, Reply)
Isn't Torchwood awful?
I hate these transatlantic joint ventures.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:45, Reply)
I know that technically it's terrible
and unbelievable and stupid, but I am fucking loving it. Not seen last week's one yet.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:46, Reply)
This season is much better than the last ones,
they can actually afford things like sets and stuff now, amazing.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:47, Reply)
Definitely not
they got rid of the decent characters and stuck with Gwen because she's pretty. I'm not a fan of Torchwood but it's even worse now
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:49, Reply)
Not that pretty

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:49, Reply)
prettier than the others

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 17:02, Reply)
like annoying wide mouth frog guy
who inexplicably pulls every episode
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 17:04, Reply)
That and the characters were dead.
I like the new guy Rex and the Doctor woman. I think the red haired morally ambiguous girl is good.

And Gwen isn't pretty anymore.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:50, Reply)
You've had worse.

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:53, Reply)
Yep true.

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:54, Reply)
I swear the gap between her front teeth gets bigger in each subsequent series...

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:53, Reply)
Oh you're in for a treat with next weeks episode of torchwood
it's like an hour of gay porn and bad romance novels. I was hoping torchwood had turned a corner :(
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:46, Reply)
You've got to hand it to them, it's at least moved on from the big-gay-welsh-Men-in-Black that the first two series were
It is still incredibly silly, I just want to know how it ends. As long as they don't go for the same style of dreadful grief-porn ending as the last one.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:49, Reply)
They'll grief porn it right up, and you know it.

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:50, Reply)
Yeah, actually, based on the ending of the last episode,
I can see them setting up a crass and obvious "tragedy" for the finale in the hope of adding "poignancy" to what is otherwise just a daft bit of Gay Welsh Sci-fi.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:53, Reply)
That's the annoying thing RTD always does
there was that one terrible episode of Dr Who which just tagged a "..and it was the night my mother died...boo hooo..." to try and make people care about it.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:54, Reply)
Well, quite - just look at the end of the Tate/Tennent series
Part 1 - set up a fantastic (if rather far-fetched) apocalyptic crisis scenario.

Part 2 - resolve said apocalyptic crisis in the first 20 minutes with some lazy magic-button-pushing so we can get on with another 25 minutes of mawkish sentimental "human drama."
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:56, Reply)
We want more aliens and less crying

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:58, Reply)
I'll second that.
I watch Dr Who for unconvincing aliens in crap rubber costumes, not badly-written soap opera!
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:58, Reply)
have you seen the Ianto wall in Cardiff?
It's a little disturbing - lots of tributes from people wanting Ianto to not be dead
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:50, Reply)
The welsh really need some more hobbies, or jobs.

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:53, Reply)
Or gassing. Like badgers.

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:54, Reply)
You have got to be joking...surely?
(People in real life take Torchwood that seriously?)
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:54, Reply)
no :(

No they are not.
Gadaffi is losing. This is bad. As the world's most flamboyant dictator, he should be cherished.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:47, Reply)
We will never see his like again.
Putting the fun etc.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 16:48, Reply)
It's just not fair.
When the people take to the streets here, burn a bit of stuff and break a few windows, they are scum.
when they do much worse in Libya, they are fucking heros.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 17:02, Reply)
It's almost like our government and population are a bunch of hypocrites isn't it?

(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 17:03, Reply)
That's the word I was looking for: bunch.
They are a bunch of scum.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 17:05, Reply)
Yeah, when Gaddaffi or Abbas imprison loads of people for outrageous periods of time
for minor offences they get called "dictators" but when our system does it they get told they are cleaning up a morally bankrupt society. What's that all about.
(, Tue 23 Aug 2011, 17:10, Reply)
You should totally write a short story about this.

Well since it's quiet I'll tell you all about my weird dream last night
I dreamt I was about to get off with Thom Yorke (who in my dream was particularly tall and really hot, which he seems not to be in real life) and then it turned into an action film which involved me doing lots of heroic escaping from bad guys and swinging on ropes and being shot at (in the dream, I was remembering when I had been shot before in the shoulder. I like how dream me has her own back story, too)

Was pretty exciting. I woke up and had porridge.
